Coolest Rappel In The World...The Golden Cathedral! Canyoneering Through Neon Canyon, Utah

The video features a hike to Neon Canyon, several rappels within the canyon, Utah culminating in a free hanging 90' rappel into the Golden Cathedral. This is unequivocally is one of the most unique and exciting slot canyon adventures in Utah! There is no formal trail to the Golden Cathedral! The adventure begins with a 6+ mile hike carrying loads of gear though deep sand, numerous scrambles over slick rock and a hike to the top of Neon Canyon. Once at the top, one has to rappel into the canyon. Several more rappels and wading/swimming through pools of water, often boobytrapped with quicksand, are required before one reaches the thrill of a lifetime, a free hanging rappel into the golden Cathedral. Then one has a 6+ mile hike, mostly uphill back to Camp.
This particular adventure was led by Tom Jones (a.ka. the "Michael Jordan" of slot canyoneering) and Mike Schasch and was done in 100º+ heat.
