The real way to play Loki is to drop a clone, then stand completely stationary and NPC-shoot other players while pretending you are a clone yourself.

I see people try that strat with Mirage in Apex where they pretend to run into a wall and then come out with a brutal flank. Definitely a good strategy with clone characters. But I know Loki's game so I just shoot everything, and shoot those Runes EXPEDITIOUSLY! 😤

So the real reason Loki doesn’t actually get huge healing numbers is because his strongest “heal” isn’t actually counted on the charts as healing.. his lantern only counts the healing it does to get your team to full health but after that it stops counting.. it’s looked at as a invincible shield and not health once they are topped off. Luna and cloak and dagger when using their healing abilities like the bubble or the shield counts as a constant healing over time. Hope that helps all my Loki players that know they are saving the team and putting in monster heals but at the end of the game it’s not really showing it as heals.

Saw this tip somewhere: if your team is still fighting up on the point when you respawn, check to see if any of your clones are still alive with them. You can drop the regen field for them immediately, then by the time you get back to the fight it will either be ready again or close

Loki ult has some really fun interactions. When you ult as the copied target you get additional time based on the character you picked. But it’s not just you receive additional time it’s: if you have less then x amount of time set the remaining time to x. The amount of time depends on the character but typically roaming ults like luna or punisher get 12-15 seconds and instant ults like iron man and dr strange get 5-8 seconds. Some exceptions are black widow and wolverine get only 3 seconds for some reason, rocket and c&d get only 5 seconds despite rockets ult lasting 12 seconds and c&d’s ult last around 10. Also some are better then expected like squirrel girl and storm get 12 seconds, Bruce gives you 3 hulk gives you 15 and buff hulk command grab gives you 10. Some extremely strong copy targets can be: On round 2 or 3 of a control game ask someone with less then 50% ult charge to swap to dr strange and immediately swap back once you copy them. (Also make sure you don’t copy a strange that has portal on cooldown, loki will copy the cooldown.) Portal from spawn above the enemy team and eye them. NOBODY EXPECTS A PORTAL EYE FIGHT WHEN YOU DIDN’T HAVE A STRANGE LEST ROUND If you’re running thor ,hela, and loki copy hela and tell the Thor to full dive cause he has unlimited lives. The only team up Loki can use is getting a kill as hela and reviving thor or even himself if he gets a kill with the stickies after he dies Copy Adam and you get to use the self rez and the ult gives you 12 additional seconds in the copy timer, I’m not fully sure how the interaction works but Loki can rez himself with the Adam ult cause there’s a little overlap between loki dying as Adam and becoming loki again and the Adam ult still being up and seeing a dead Loki on the team. So ult as Adam and run in like you’re immortal cause you are Also in general two people using the same ult at the same time is really difficult to counter so look to copy people with ult

Something you left out in regards to his healing numbers, is that when his runes “heal” someone that’s already full health when converting damage taken inside the rune, the game doesn’t calculate it as “healing”. It just doesn’t have them take the damage at all, so it’s more like preventative healing.

I ended OAA last season and just hit C1 today, mainly one tricking Loki. Pretty good guide and I definitely learned a few things, especially around the drop off dmg for the dps aspect of his weapon. One thing I’d say that you missed is how critical high ground is for Loki. There are lots of OP spots on maps where you can be impossible to remove, and easily splash to heal and dps. You can also extend your setup combo to take advantage of high ground. You e a clone to high ground then f then drop invis clone.

Bit late to the party but this is a really good guide for loki. I have played an ungodly amount of loki, but I would say there's one fundamental thing to still remember. Loki's a Stratergist, not just a Healer. 1. If the opportunity presents itself get aggressive playing front line with tanks or flanking is great for ult economy and making plays. 2. Invis is an amazing setup tool, pop it before team fights to set up in off angles woth your clones to heal/dmg. 3. Don't forget to body block with your clones. But still find your own way to play the god of mischief :D

As a Loki Main, He EXCELS in Brawl fights. When all the Tanks and DPS starts to charge in the point or cart and they need all the health they can get. But wait, other healers can also spam heals in with AoE abilities? What makes Loki (somewhat) better? Cause the magic missiles He does ALSO deal damage , with NO cool down. the only other Healer whose Basic Attack can do both Heal and Damage aside from Loki is Invisible Woman, and even then, Her projectiles only goes back and forth like a Boomerang, not like the explosions a magic missile does. Loki's biggest con is healing/damage flying targets. Its easier if they're flying near a wall, but direct hits? only the skilled can do that

Definitely one of my favorites due to his unique playstyle. When I picked him up, the main skill curve was making sure his clones lived longer than five seconds with that cooldown management. I do wish the backstab did some more worthwhile damage like 60-70, but at the same time that would probably just turn into a noob trap and get Lokis killed.

As a Loki main he is the best healer. Hands down, his heals are more efficient and much more game altering than others. The trick to being a good loki is play in the background, you are the trickster so act like it. Then be your tank’s best friend, don’t be stingy and let a groot or strange die because you don’t want to use your rune. Loki’s rune comes back much faster than you might think. Also, if you ever die as Loki, but you still have a clone in the fight, pop down that well on your struggling teammates and communicate. “I have a well down at my clone at (yata yata) run there for heals”. Doing this has clutched plenty of games for me.

loki one trick here, got some input. Will provide timestamps based on when I'm writing this throughout the video. starting out, loki is strong - but isn't your support carry. he's a good second or third healer, similar to how adam warlock is handled in high comp. He doesn't have enormous burst or continuous healing output, but he has strong counter potential in his runes and having access to any ult on the field is effective for making plays or keeping your team up on point. Part of playing loki effectively is being capable of playing other heroes with highly effective ults - think invisible woman, cloak and dagger, jeff, rocket, moon knight, winter soldier, psylocke, strange, spidey, ect. 2:45 Loki's projectiles actually travel through team mates if they're at full health - it's really effective to fire through team mates who are fighting, since it'll heal them when they need it and damage the enemies behind them when they're full. 9:50 Depending on your team, you'll need to make the comm that they should be pushing. I've found higher comp ranks (and my stack, since they're used to playing with me) are good at taking initiative, but in qp or lower ranks people tend to sit back even when the runes are down :( Targeted runes are super powerful though, i agree. instant 'don't die lol' button. 12:10 I wouldn't treat invis as a third clone - it's a tool that you'll usually want to save unless you're 100% sure you're safe. It's super strong as a disengage or repositioning ability as long as you're not fighting a melee hero (or invisible woman, since her ball will usually reveal you). Sure, you can argue his clone swap is stronger for this, but in the case of poor clone positioning, cooldown management or if your opponent reengages with you, the invis is strong as a second vanish. 15:34 commenting on the footage here - that building actually only becomes destructible when the round starts, i usually destroy it too since it opens some sight lines from the back. Not that it matters, since you'd just end up reloading anyway, but you can hold off on shooting it until the game starts. 16:30 good advice, to be honest. It contradicts what i said earlier about invis being a strong resource, but keeping a pocket clone is effective enough even if it means putting invis on cooldown. Being stuck without clones makes loki far more useless.

He has 2 major weaknesses. One is dealing with flying enemy and friendly characters. Two payload maps where the fighting positions are constantly changing that I find it hard to play clones in good positions that works more than 3 seconds

A few more things from personal experience 1. You can E + F to make an near-instant teleportation. This can be used to get back from spawn or as an escape option 2. You can pretend to be a clone, this often saves life. You're a god of mischief after all. This wastes enemy time trying to figure out who's who, and then you just cloak away or ~~snap~~ swap 3. Try and stay out of sight and behind cover, bonus points for being on high ground. This allows you to avoid being shot at, but you see your entire team. Also, being on high ground makes you harder to reach by certain characters (like Wolverine and Hulk) and makes it easier to land primary fire 4. Cloak starts its cooldown only when you are visible again. Also, while it looks like Loki is faster when cloaked, he's not 5. You can use your clones as meatshields. You can shoot through them, but enemy can't 6. Clones shoot wherever you're shooting, but they're melee-attacking too. This allows for some funny backstab oneshots. THIS LOKI IS A SPY. It's kinda useless in most cases, but still 7. When ulting, try to use stolen abilities before ult, since most ults have a cast time. Say, drop Witch's RMBs and E first before ulting - this way, when you're done, you'll have your abilities back 8. Don't bother ulting Hulk. You'll spend 50% of your ult time watching yourself transform from one stage to another and the other half trying to hit that damn shark

Seeing that I'm implementing these things into my Loki makes me feel like I'm on the right track. He's by far the most fun healer I've ever used. You have said what I say to all of my friends, Loki only makes plays Loki is capable of. You showed me how to abuse my invisibility way more. We all grow our brains together. Something you missed (unintentionally) is his Ult follows rules of most other Ults, which means you can copy a character, use their entire kit until your health/time runs out, THEN use your stolen Ult. It refreshes GOM timer to follow the duration of the Ult you stole 😀

Three additional notes about Loki (from the lense of casual play not competitive) 1). Don't be afraid to stand still. None of Loki's clones can move so if the enemy team sees you moving (and knows the shenanigans Loki is capable of) they'll immediately know you're the real Loki and target you instead of your clones 2). Utilize the clone swap. It's not just a panic move or movement tool, it's very good for disorienting enemies too. If they realize which Loki you are or you see a Spiderman/Panther nearby you can easily use the swap to negate their whole combo. As an added thing, you don't need to look at the clones to swap to them. If you're within range you can swap to the nearest clone while still shooting at the enemy 3). Don't forget you can change your keybinds (especially on controller). In general the controller keybinds are good, but customizing the to what feels intuitive to you makes a MASSIVE difference with how you play each character. For me, I set the drop clone move to LT (so you can place clones even faster while still keeping an onslaught of damage/healing) Invisibility to RB, clone swap to Y/Triangle (definitely because of Lego game muscle memory), and the rune to B/Circle (I also added a bind for my super to be LB so I can snag the one I want much faster than pressing in both sticks). For me, this keybinds arrangement really makes it easier to throw down clones with accuracy very fast while also allowing you to use abilities like rune or swap as you heal/damage players Another note about Loki is that he's a very selfish healer. You're basically only healing every else and keeping them alive so you don't get touched. Keep that in mind and Loki's kit will play *so* good, regardless of the performance of the rest of your team

For me i've found that using Deception, which drops a clone, walking few steps, then placing a clone a few meters infront of you, is a great way to create a perfect Healing runway. Plus many ppl underutilize the Deception skill so this good way to take advantage of it

You can make a surprise attack alongside your flanking dps. Go invisible and when your dps starts a fight with the enemy, they will engage him thinking he is alone but actually you drop your cooldowns and they get cooked and the dps survives

Good tips for the ult confirmation and clone placement, loki's backstab can come in clutch whenever a brawler/duelist DPS is getting outmatched by another DPS and is low you can drop a clone on your DPS and stealth backstab bust down that 1v1 and turn it to a 3 v1 if your aggressive, stealing iron man's or Hellas ultimate to take out the backline strategists is also very clutch I just started playing Loki and I find him quite enjoyable and he plays to the lore like T you have to be very cunning and thinking about the big plays to turn the tides in your teams favor sometimes I even cackle maniacally in voice coms!😈🤘

About Loki's healing stats, the runes converting damage to health is bugged and doesn't count towards his healing or damage blocked stat, so his healing is usually higher than what you see in the stats

This may actually solve my issue when picking healers. Whenever I try to heal it always feels stressful, but only one who looked interesting to me was Luna. Then I get dive-bombed and I've got no counterplay (aside from the freeze with like a nano-meter hitbox). I didn't know Loki's projectile was splash since I hadn't checked him out yet. And that invis/clone looks OP as hell and perfect counterplay to get away from those GOD DAMNED IRON FISTS! 😵‍💫

Few other tips to add!! Be sure to look out when going against a Moonknight or Winter Soilder. Moonknight can bounce their attacks on your clone to your own team, keep your clones spread out and out of sight on the high ground. Winter Solider make sure your clones aren't close or reachable when he ults. Ult hitting and killing your clones will re-extend this ult allowing him to keep spamming it and keep it active longer.

I was on a game where we got outplayed by a Loki in the most Loki way possible. We were in a team fight and had pushed them back to spawn. The game ends and we think we won only to see we lost because the Loki player snuck over to the cart and pushed it while we were busy

Im in diamond, he’s really good just very team dependent. Biggest tip is learning decoy placements. Learning new angles watching the top loki players and discovering yourself
