you should open a shop and have others work there to help you, and people could bring their own things in and the idea of how they want it, you could charge them depending on how many things you're transforming. You're really good at this, i seriously think you could make a living out of this plus the videos to do it.

@deborahmoran32637 жыл бұрын
what would you be prepared to pay though?
@miami65667 жыл бұрын
Deborah Moran People would love the idea of finding a item that could BE perfect but needs some adjustments or having a dress in mind you really want but can't find it or never having to throw anything away just turn it into something else, or something that has a specific sentimental value to you but is too small or out of style or for whatever reason, there are SO many advantages to this, if you bring her the materials then you only pay for her work so personally i would be willing to spend 40 dollars and up till say 80 depending on the things i need
@swampmop7 жыл бұрын
Amanda Peck think of how many hours she spends working in these projects tho. it's so time consuming, if you wanted something like the dress here i imagine it would take more than 2 days. $80 wouldn't be worth opening a shop. i like the idea but it just doesn't seem reasonable
@deborahmoran32637 жыл бұрын
I agree. She is better off teaching others by showing what she does. Just one point of construction criticism - some of her techniques are a little "home made" looking. She would do well to sharpen up on some sewing skills. All designers that sew know that after the sewing machine - the iron is the most important thing - so ironing seams after you've sewn them gives that professional look. Then getting a little clued up on proper ways to insert zips and finish off seams & hems; know how to cut using straight grains in the material; and even overcoming fitting problems. Then a TV producer might consider a TV show.

Have you ever tried using a basting stitch to gather fabrics like chiffon or lace? You just use you machine and make a temporary wide stitch across the line and then pull the string to tighten the fabric to the desired length, then use your hands to distribute the peaked and valleys as you want them. It's much easier than gathering and pinning. Learned that trick from Anika and thought about her technique here!
