I do share the sentiment that this blaster feels more like an incomplete prototype, a testing rig for a barrel exchange system. It seems just ... ripe for someone to take it and fiddle around with the barrel system whilst improving the ergo. If I were to take on that challenge, I suppose my first priority would actually be the ergo. I know you don't like thumb-hole stocks, coop (likely because of how many poorly designed ones there are in this space), but I think you realize that they do serve a purpose. Widening the thumb-hole stock so people can get their hands around the back of the grip would be the main priority, but I'd also change one other thing: lengthening and widening the back of the stock. I'd also make it so that, if you didn't like the stock I put on the blaster, you'd be able to detach it and use your own stock. I like what they were trying to go for, but they really should've taken ergo into account when designing this blaster. This blaster to me, overall, reads as just a bit too ... stocky to actually do the things they were trying to achieve. There's a lot of wasted plastic in the back, in my eyes. But then, I'm not exactly an engineer.

Id say just put a real steel rail with a grip and a stock and it's golden
@MegaGaming112 жыл бұрын
@@thekingofgamers3350 Part of the design for the original blaster was to make it almost feel like you were holding a bazooka/rocket launcher, I feel. I would like to have that same feeling, but with more of an eye towards ergo
@limpetarch98k2 жыл бұрын
Given the design of the stock, this thing is just asking to be treated like a rocket launcher. The receiver should be longer to not only accomodate a better shoulder rest, but also a lenghtier spring for that extra power. The grip should be canted to the left but also extended to hopefully move the off-hand away from smacking the firing hand. Once all that is done, they can finally use that free space to make a longer and more comfortable grip. That would fix the issue without really changing the blaster design itself. This blaster just tries to be as compact as possible and it shows. Also, imagine if there is a barrel swap for boomco darts, that would be sick.

Yeah this definitely couldn’t be a primary, but if your game has different ammo having way different properties it could be useful to carry this and a few of the barrels. The dream for this would be getting it to mount it to a blaster as an under barrel.

Yeah, that is what I feel a lot of people will say. It's a hella cool concept that seems to work well with the barrel switching, but the ergo of everything even at first glance looks terrible. Yes, it also matters on how snug the darts are in the entrance of the barrel. You really need to flick it down so there's more force and a slightly tight fit than simply letting the darts slide down

perhaps if there was a lever linked to the priming system, like some modern crossbows, it would be easier to prime. another cool idea would be to 'spring load' the turret barrels, adding a button and a notch so you could turn it 360 degrees after loading it, then hit a button after shooting to get it to rotate on its own.
@d4rk5t4r22 жыл бұрын
The priming issues reminds me a lot of the real life PIAT anti-tank weapon from WW2. The PIAT was a portable spigot mortar instead of a rocket launcher, and in order to prime the weapon for firing you actually had to point it up and place your feet on the weapon’s shoulder rest, so that you could then unlock the spring and pull it up

I honestly think the two springs are a bit overkill, if this is meant for fun foam flinging, then it takes already poor ergo and makes it worse by making it extremely difficult to prime. I feel a single K25 would be appropriate to launch mega/megaXL, Rockets and (if the design is improved a little) regular darts, especially so given the large plunger volume.

I agree with the specialty blaster for other ammo types thing, definitely wouldn’t fit the role as a main primary too well. But even then, it’s ergonomics and small stock really lowers it’s potential to be an actually great all-rounder blaster. Right now it feels more like a concept blaster than a blaster that you would actually use. Cool concept and has potential, but could be better.

TLDR: awesome concept, but blaster needs ergonomic changes. If the designer is watching this. I would personally think a more traditional grip and stock would go a long way, probably based off of an AR15 type geometry. That would probably fix most complaints about prime weight, but if it is still heavy and unwieldy, maybe look at a longer prime stroke with a reduced spring weight. This would yield similar power and would take the same amount of total effort to prime back, but it wouldn't feel as heavy in the moment.
@danielsantiagomontoyaotalv15952 жыл бұрын
Also put rails on both sides of the priming handle, if an atachement has a guiding bar you can link it and move it at the same time, would allow for more complex desings

For RSCBs I have found that darts with small heads that have a standoff between them and the body are better. (i.e. The worker half-lengths) Other than the wonky ergonomics, this blaster/system looks super fun! If the ergonomics were better, this would be a super cool customizable blaster! I think the grip and the stock need lots of work. Maybe even detachable stocks for different sizes. Instead of that wierd triangular priming hand, maybe a horizontal one with a lip so that you dont need to apply as much pressure? And the stock needs to be good for a strong prime. And dont even get me started with the grip, it's super easy. Add a trigger guard and a bigger thumb hole, or no thumb hole! If these are fixed this blaster would be a monster in the field!
