Not sure how I missed this video. I seriously love this tire. I’ve ran BFGs, Toyo AT2s, Toyo MTs and Nitto G2s. This tire by far has the best wet traction and overall handling. The few times I did go off road it handled just fine as well.

I run these on my F250 and have been pretty pleased after 10k miles. They're quiet, smooth, do good in dry, wet, and a few inches of snow. They will load up with mud quickly, but that's to be expected. The only real negative I have with them is that they hold gravel really bad. I have a gravel drive and it's always kicking them out driving down the highway. I'd buy them again if they continue to perform well. Being made in the USA is a HUGE plus too!

Ran a set of them on my 2017 Ford F250 6.7 diesel, FX4. Very quiet. Very stable. Great in the rain. Good traction in the snow. Rolled up and through Jackson Hole in early November snow storm. Very sure footed. Of course, drive prudently. Got 50k miles and still had 9/32 before replacing them with the Mickeys Baja Boss A/T.

How are your Mickeys holding up? Better or worse than the Cooper?

Thanks for the great review. Recently, I had Toyo Open Country AT3's installed on my 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD and I HATED them! With the Toyo's, my truck would literally bounce all over the road creating a very uncomfortable ride. After 2 rebalances within a couple of weeks of owning the Toyo's, they still rode like crap. So, I gave them back and switched to the Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT's. Wow, the ride quality was like night and day. I couldn't be more pleased with the Cooper tires and highly recommend them to anyone who drives a HD truck and does any towing.

Sounds like you got a Toyo with a load rating way too low for your vehicle. Don't get me wrong, the XLT is stiffer than an Open Country AT3 of the same size and load rating, but your negative experience seems so extreme that I bet you were driving on a 6 or 8-ply tread ply and soft 2-ply sidewall Toyo. Then bumped up to a 10-ply, stiff 2ply XLT. Just my two cents being a Discount Tire employee.

@@Polemicist_ Dude, your BET is way OFF! BOTH the Toyos and Coopers had the same all-around IDENTICAL specs; LT 285/60R20, 10-ply, E load range. Plus, the Coopers had the better tread warranty @ 60K. Sorry to highlight your failed analysis but, the Coopers are a far better product and they're made in the USA!!

My Toyos did the same thing. On the interstate they were ok. Country roads though,they would bounce all over and curves really sucked. My truck was perfectly aligned, but the tires would roll over the outside edge so bad. I only got 26000 miles out of them.

Why do you think Goodyear will ruin Cooper? Cooper seems to be doing okay revenue wise, so it wouldn't make much sense for Goodyear to overall Cooper when they could just let Cooper keep doing what it's doing well.

@@HfxpokerPlr depends on what type of offroading you do, but generally speaking you want more tire sidewall.
@BamaBrave1725
@BamaBrave1725 3 жыл бұрын
@@HfxpokerPlr don’t worry about this comment lol. Not every truck has to be specifically used for off roading. You would be absolutely fine with 20s. Sure, if you constantly are doing hardcore off roading then get smaller wheels for more sidewall. Plenty of 4x4 trucks come factory with 20s and 22s. Besides, this video is talking about the tire and not the wheel.

There is off-road use (Me hitting trails for hunting and fishing spots, or more commonly, hitting a construction site in early spring with mud and melting snow) and then there is rock-crawling. Rubber band tires on 20" rims? Yeah, that is silly. But a lifted or leveled truck with 20's is just fine. Almost nobody is rock crawling at MOAB. Those guys get what they need. This is less than 1% of people.

So, 6:09 of video driving around to do what you could have done just sitting inside since you only talked and didn't actually use the tires for their true purpose. That's about par for this company as they seem to specialize in tires and rims for the "hey look at me I got a big truck with pretty wheels that I use for all the same stuff I could do in a minivan" guys. I'm sure someone will read this and feel personally attached because it describes them perfectly and have to argue with me or claim "dude I take mine off road all the time". Sure you do....That's code for they park in the grass beside their driveway.
