To be in a conversation that compares a sixteen year old to anything regarding Luka's skills is amazing. Imagine what Mother Nature does to a male body between ages sixteen and twenty-one. Fifty years ago I was a skinny 6'8" sixteen year old that eventually completed my high school career with All-State worthy stats. In that era strength and conditioning for high school and college players was in the stone age compared to today. He loves the middie out of a triple threat quite a bit in this highlight package, which is not really available or considered to be highly efficient in the NBA. But you can see with his ball-handling, pick-and-roll navigation, shooting stroke, overall athleticism, size, and court mapping that he could be a huge star. One comp I see right away is Jayson Tatum - the fluidity and economy of motion, the shooting, the 3-level scoring, the handle at this size, the athleticism. But he also has some Andrew Wiggins type athleticism and leaping ability around the basket, can clearly put pressure on the rim.

It’s nice to see him play with high level and athletic guards. The guards on his Maine United team work hard, but lack the athleticism to get him the ball in good scoring positions. If you watch the MU team, Cooper all too often is with the ball at the point with the entire opposing defense focused on him. Big difference when he’s not required to do so much ball handling and he’s free to roam around. Tho the ball handling he does for MU is helping him develop an all-court game.
