Just finished Wimpy Weak and Woke last night. Excellent read, well worth the time. There is a lot there and much to think and consider. I feel so educated on the dialectic lol. I would reccomend reading "Live Not by Lies" by Rod Dreher in tandem. I just happened to be reading them at the same time and I found it helpful. So excited to hear that Skillet might have another album in the next little bit!

Um, our rights DO come from God AND DO NOT come from the government. Declaration of Independence, people. "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness." Clearly, that woman does not know her history, forever not understand civics, and has not read the Declaration of Independence in a loooong time. But she's a product of government-run schools, and these schools don't want their students to know the truth of our history or our founding documents.

Hey John, i'm a new listener. Awesome compilation of ideas for a 200th episode. You're right on brother. I'd like to add an additional thought that i've been working through lately. Just like the deconstruction that big eva is engaging in, big "GOP" i guess you could call it, is engaging in the same level of deconstruction of the value structure in the republican party/conservative subculture. The party has devolved to what i've heard described as the "godless right" in which more and more GOP activists and politicians are willing to reject inconvenient values such as true marriage, sanctity of life, sexual morality, and rather focus on fiscal responsibility or other less morally contentious topics. To me some of these folks could be described as leftist corporatists whose only common ground with us is that they want low taxes. From my vantage, we are now the RINO's; because the party no longer represents the values it used to. Most within the party who still believe these values are either getting berated by their colleagues for being too "divisive" or are too afraid to say anything due to fear of such criticism. This decision to be a "company man" instead of following truth comes from idolatry of the republican party rather than loyalty to the highest law. I think we often make that choice because its easier and gets less blowback. Think Nikki Haley, a WEF globalist who openly invited Disney to SC after they were being rightly cancelled for promoting child sexual exploitation. Or how about Kari Lake going to the Mar-A-Lago LGBTQ party and openly celebrating sin with everyone in attendance. Or this presumption that we have to ally with Bruce Jenner just because he expresses some conservative values despite being the literal embodiment of the poisonous sexual revolution. Why does the party demand loyalty to such things? And Trump for that matter, he loves his vaccine and still says operation warp speed was his greatest achievement. In my estimation, he has not learned the error of his ways and how they manipulated him to cheat the election. He signed the CARES act which allowed the ballot boxes and fell into the trap they set using his ego against him. Making him think that blood would be on his hands if he didn't hand over power to the "experts". Their ploy was successful, but i don't think he understands that. He knows nefarious things happened, but i don't think he understands how. If he doesn't understand how, he can't be adequately prepared when they do it again. He may be a patriot, but the wisdom he needs to be successful against this level of evil is found in the Bible, and he has yet to display that he has submitted himself in humility to be a tool of God even after these 4 years. He won't even take council from knowledgeable good men who are fighting the good fight - if they contradict him to tell him something he doesn't want to hear. In fact he often lies about them i.e. "lockdown Ron". He's welded to his ego. I don't mean to be nihilistic. I do think its our job to stand up in culture and be unafraid, but we also gotta stop presuming that the GOP is "gods own party". Its painfully evident that is not the current trendline in mainstream right wing culture right now. Fox news pushed the clot shot. Even newsmax pushed it and fired one of their anchors who refused to stop whistleblowing about it. We found out later, all those networks took huge payments from the government to push the vax. Many of those outlets are compromised. Doesn't mean we shouldn't try to take them back, but we shouldn't be too cozy and let our guard down with them.

There is this little 'test' I sometimes do, I would play someone who likes rock music one of Skillet's songs... the response is always "so awesome, this band is on fire, need to go get the album" only for me to add "I know right!? kinda crazy just how amazing Christian rock can be" and without exception, invariably they would reply "oh, in that case they suck"... what makes Skillet different is how their lyrics IS about what we humans can all relate to but with ALWAYS with a Christian message... take "Hero" for example, it cannot be more obvious but it is so well done... I have noticed in my country and we are 88% Christian all of this... BUT, sometimes, maybe quite a time the same person come back to me and say "thanks man, I was wrong, thank you for introducing me to Skillet, since my silly and callous response... I, I repented, surrendered but I was ashamed of admitting it" John, your music, your style, is distinct but I hope you realize how potent it is, I am not the fanboy type, more like appreciate and value people who are the best at what they do but not for their sake but for the sake of Christ, the Kingdom of God, I heard in a previous podcast you say you had 'not such a great season'... all I can say is that given how things are in the US, I can understand from that vantage point, but personal stuff, that is something I leave to prayer and ultimately Christ. Thanks again John, I really enjoyed the montage.
