I love your podcast. Thank you for being a voice of reason in a world of chaos. I recently had a family member of mine leave the faith publicly and it broke my heart. To know that having a strong foundation in Christ is so important. Your podcast has helped me deal with this hard blow. I am a Christian and go to a wonderful bible based church and I wouldn't have been able to deal with this with out Christ and other strong believers support. Thank you and keep up the great work. Your sister in Christ.

It’s amazing how often I find myself in the same page with you, brother!! As a Hispanic pastor in Austin, TX I’ve understood that our physical origin was determined by God so we ought to be thankful for that and understand our cultural differences, but our destiny is Heaven so our main emphasis must be to acquire and develop our heavenly citizenship. Then it becomes unique like you’re mentioning because first and foremost it’s about our individual relationship with the Lord and then about the community of believers. Thanks for all you’re doing!!

John, you are ridiculously smart. I feel like this could all just be boiled down to we are trying to make it all about us, about SELF. That’s where it all goes wrong. It doesn’t matter the color of my skin, my gender, my economic class. What matters is God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

I love that you think so deeply about these matters...and then, share them with us. Thank you so much. It really helps those of us who struggle to think this way to get our biblical theology right so that we can think correctly or, to put it another way, to sanctify our thinking. God is so good.

Love this show and John is very clear and concise without beating around the bush or being vague, he really puts things in far better perspective than some of the academics such as NY Write etc. It demonstrates how God can use a man like John with no seminary training to punch holes of truth through the walls of our current generations ideology.

You hit the nail on the head. Everything has become politicized, and identity politics is to blame. I have a really hard time with this because politics divides us so much. Once good friends have turned to against me and shamed me for disagreeing about politics, because they always virtue signal. It hurts, not gonna lie.

As usual, Cooper making some solid points. God is love, but being God, he’s also the very definition of good and holy and as such cannot have anything to do with what is bad or unholy. I’ve seen Christians say “I was created by God and God doesn’t make mistakes!” which is completely backwards for obvious reasons

Sometimes I feel like most people talk about God’s love and the other parts of his character they don’t want to address, the fact that he’s holy and just. For me I don’t understand why some people don’t want to know ALL of God. I’ve heard sermons that only focus on God’s love. I prefer to know him in his entirety if that makes sense.

I think its natural for fallen man to focus so much on identity. Intersectional politics is a natural stepping stone the fallen man's escape from biblical logic. It is natural to ponder identity. As Christians, we know that our identity is in Jesus Christ. Galatians 3:28 tells us, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." Those who do not know Christ naturally fall into insersectionality, because they do not have an identity in Christ.

A good friend of mine asked why I was leaving our ethnically and homogeneous church and going to a "white" church. I responded to him that it was more important to me that my life was set apart to minister and witness to all people. He rebutted that we were created by God to be this way for a reason. I said I can't argue with that however I am willing to forsake my birth right to bring worship and glory for the God of my salvation, thru His grace alone.

So, what your saying John is that I shouldn't go to church and demand people be there to be more like me or look like me, because that's me focused and not God focused, but to want to be with everyone who's there for God's purpose. More of God, less of me. Less of me, more of you Holy God....I can do that brother 😎✌️ I really do love the fact that the man singing my all time favorite song (Hero) is also teaching me what he knows and believes from the good book, the Bible. Your awesome 💪😁👍

Ecc 7:18 "It is good to grasp the one and not let go of the other. A man who fears God will avoid all extremes." We need to do that with scripture. One scripture does not negate the other. All scripture is true.

There’s no such thing as too much distinction. God is in the details. The fact is when you accept Jesus as your savior, and you love Jesus and God, them you want to make them happy, you want to bring them glory. And when you love them in that way, there preferences become your preferences, and you want to live like them. We still all have things that make us unique, that’s yet another thing that makes god amazing, but there should be common threads. Because Christ is at the center of your unique identity, you will have commonalities with others who find their identity in Christ. Your unique, but like the Bible says, “seek ye first the Lord” in other words, “you, seek the Lord first”.
