Cooper Webb joins Team USA to race 250 at MXDN

In a wild turn of events, Cooper Webb joins Chase Sexton and Aaron Plessinger as Team USA’s 250 rider for the 2024 Motocross des Nations at Matterly Basin. Chance Hymas was selected after Haiden Deegan opted not to go so that he could have a wrist surgery done to remove pins he had put in earlier this year from a pre-season injury. However, Chance re-aggravated his knee, resulting in him having to pull out of the SMX series and out of MXDN to have his knee repaired. In This Week in MXA, episode 196, presented by O’Neal, Josh Mosiman and Josh Fout react to the big news, and then we talk to Yamaha’s Mike Ulrich about the GYTR hydraulic clutch, and we test the FMF exhaust system on our 2025 Kawasaki KX450, the DR.D pipe and silencer on our 2025 KTM 150SX two-stroke, and the Pro Circuit exhaust system on our 2025 Honda CRF250.

I think it’s a great move. Webb is one of the most competitive riders alive. A couple of more weeks to get familiar with the 250 and improve his fitness and I like his chances to win or at least podium.

I thought star was but they seem to have come around after the anstie pressure now webb. Also that’s what the deegs said to deflect but there’s no paycheque involved is the reality. The hardware in the wrist as well I don’t get, he’s fitter and on top form way more than chance and now Webb. Is 1 week going to make that big difference getting metal (if there’s any metal that is) removed? the injuries well healed the guys flying!

It’s 2 weeks basically. These guys fly private could easily be getting metal removed (if there is any metal at all lol) 2 days after the nations… there’s no money involved only pride at mxon and it shows. unfortunate for the fans we missing out seeing Americas fastest 250 rider. Also I think star realised how bad it looked on them refusing Anstie a bike the top Brit at a British nations not a good luck!! Glad there’s a second bike now with Webb. Also shame Mitch hates the event too kitchen would be great pic also

yamaha best jap bike brand , it would be loud and have tons of torque . if kawi made one it would be as slow as a 250 and maybe heavier , if suckzuki made one they would have to dig up a dr350 motor thats 30 years old , if honda built one it would have 6 valves and twin mufflers , with three camshafts and handle like a trail 90.

The "Team USA" should have been: Deegan 250, Tomac 450, & Webb OPEN 450 a full Team USA Yamaha. Plessinger has not performed in the SMX rounds and Yes, Sexton is a logical choice from KTM, but, with the teams complaining about the cost, just send the Yamaha squad and bring home the Motocross Denations Trophy.... Prove me wrong....

I think it’s a horrible idea lol .. well put it this way, he could totally bomb and it wouldn’t surprise me or at best I think he could grab a top ten .. the Yamaha is the best 250f on the gate and he’s a consistent starter is basically all he’s got going for him imo .. he hasn’t been nothing above average outdoors in a long time and someone thought it’d be a good idea to put him on the gate against 450s on a 250 that he’s not used to starting on or riding .. no offense coop is awesome but talent wise he’s not Kenny .. my biggest worry is he hasn’t been up to speed outdoors in so long .. I do think he is capable of pulling this off I just doubt this is the format for it to happen.. rj would’ve been my pick or even smity .. I’m sry but I don’t believe coop could touch either of those guys outdoors rn ..
