Funny thing about the drowning music, it was originally supposed to be creepier take longer for you drown while the piercing music was louder and had more sharp notes, and it was inspired by Jaws.

When my dad came over for mine and my sister's graduations, she graduated from 8th grade, I graduated from High School. So my dad took us to this mordern arcade place and they had a mini genius with Sonic 1, since many of the games didn't really appeal to me, my dad was cool letting me play Sonic 1 while him and my sister played the other games. So I was playing this by a prize counter, and the guy there was super impressed that I got so far. I stop around Labyrinth zone because we had to go, but still it was nice to play Sonic 1 and people being impressed how good I was at it, as I've played so many times, instead of being assholes saying I'm playing a game that can be beaten by five year olds... Seriously, Sonic 1 takes a lot of skill to get through.

Sonic 1s mobile port is actually on the amazon fire stick so if you connect a ps4 controller wirelessly it's a great way to play sonic 1

If you ask me, the Java version of Sonic 1 is worse than Sonic Genesis GBA, Because at least Sonic Genesis GBA didn't split the game into two parts that you had to buy separately

The Style of Sonic 1's South Island has always been a delight. Though Sonic 1 isn't one of my favorites it defiantely stands out from its follow up games. And I have no qualms with playing it again once and awhile. I even enjoy Labyrinth Zone.

@@nedalomar4216 Green Hill is an amazing level but it has been overdone to death. I do prefer 1 over CD 100% because I believe that CD has some of the worst level design in the series but is praised by so many

I think the reason they didn't port the remasters was because they've already ported Sonic 1 and 2, the old fashion. And Sega Genesis Ultimate Collection as well.

My UK version didn't have the spike glitch, and "Labrith" Zone was in the correct place when you entered the level select cheat

I actually like sonic 1 more than Sonic 2. I also like labyrinth and marble zone. I think scrap brain act 1 is a bit underrated I absolutely despise spring yard zone though. And scrap brain act 2 is just the original metropolis. And of course green Hill and starlight are great
