thankyou. this was very helpful, honestly with my teacher that expects us to know everything before he even teaches us anything (our class is him teaching for 2 minutes in the beginning then everybody works with their group to do work and if we don't understand something (usually everything...) he'd be like "ask your group"...the same group that doesn't know how to do it either because he didn't teach it to us so i learn everything online and it was helpful) thank you again. recommended to everybody with a teacher like mine or anybody hat just wants to get ahead.

"(x,y) becomes (-x,-y)" doesn't just mean that positive numbers become negative numbers. What that really means is that the transformation changes the sign of the numbers that you start with. So positive numbers become negative and negative numbers become positive. I hope this helps.

Hello. This video is about the coordinate rules for rotations around the origin on a graph. The examples you refer to in your question are for translations (also known as slides) and NOT rotations. In your first example (x+3,y-1), you can take the coordinates for any point on the graph and add 3 to the x coordinate and subtract one from the y coordinate. The result is the original point will move 3 units to the right and one unit down. I hope this helps.

@Mohamed Rifaath Hello. It's possible that I accidentally described x and y backwards in one of my videos. Do you remember which video it was? Anyway, the x coordinate is the horizontal motion and the y coordinate is the vertical motion.

That is true for 90 degree clockwise rotations around the origin. It would also be true for 270 counterclockwise rotations around the origin.

he explains very good, but in one of his videos he said that the x coordinate goes in a vertical line and a y coordinate goes in a horizontal line, so how does in this video y goes in a vertical line and x coordinate goes in a horizontal line??????????????????????????

Just to add, counter clock wise is standard in math and would be put positive R90 degrees. Clock wise would be put R-90 degrees. Just fyi
