Wow! This is SO much easier than the way my teacher explained it. I haven't been getting the best grades in math this year and since it's coming to an end I wanted to be done with it on a good note. So I looked up videos on rotations and (expecting something not helpful) found this, it's wonderful. And, I passed my test with flying colors due to this video. Thanks so much, teach!

@richardhartman91436 жыл бұрын
What if you are rotating relative to a moving origin? Example: Relative to a player/sprite that moves along the grid. The player is always facing up/north (on-screen) Up-arrow moves all objects down the Y axis by 1 (Moving forward) whereas Down-arrow moves all objects up by 1 on the Y axis. But pressing RIGHT or LEFT will shift all objects 90 degrees relative to the player position. I have been trying wrap my head around this one. I'm guessing it is the same formula referencing distance from the player/sprite instead of origin.

@nalanismith28653 жыл бұрын
Look at the direction that is being asked. If it's asking counter-clockwise, out rotates to the right. Clockwise is the left. Based on where your object that you are being asked to translate is located, you go around to the left or right. I hope this helps and does not sound too confusing. 🙃
