The full post (with references and more details): www.thebioneer.com/coordinate...
This video explores the development of coordination for true strength and power. Being strong in isolated muscle groups is not enough: you must be able to use those muscles in a coordinated manner in order to exert real strength and power.
To achieve this, the body must overcome Nicolai Bernstein's "Degrees of Freedom Problem" to learn the most optimum solution to any movement problem. This may result in changes to the fascia and our neural efficiency. It must take into account the senses to form the preceptual motor landscape: information coming in through the senses.
Dynamical systems theory describes this as the body "self-organizing" around the goal, organism, and environment. It is not enough to think of movements as independent from the setting or intention.
In short: repeating the precise same movements over and over to create highly efficient neural networks for perfect execution. But to ensure these movements are ALSO adaptable to be applied to real-world challenges, the athlete/individual should also practice variations. They must practice "repetition without repetition."
Hope you enjoy this video guys: let me know what you think in the comments below!

I tell ya man, your channel deserves a million subscribers. Beyond brilliant content to adhere and live to. Most fitness youtubers out there are now trying to vlog some rock n' roll lifestyle in sunnier climates as though everyone can just sod off on a Jet to safer , less locked down places. Its not real. The advice on well being you talk about is inspiring to listen back to in these times. Like most out there, Im back to home workouts again for a few weeks at least, and while it is sometimes tough getting motivated to get on with training in the room here, watching videos like this is fuel and encouragement. Absolutely brilliant.

Great stuff. The SAID principal keeps coming back. If you want to be good at your sport, the best thing you can do is play your sport. Sure, you can supplement with practice focusing on specific phases or aspects of your sport ( strength demands, mobility, endurance, speed, and so on) but the whole is always greater than the sum of its parts.

That's the way to go, incorporate more drills and exercises that require different muscle groups, i.e. you can deadlift and superset it with kettlebell drills, or if you prefer a body weight approach you can plyo squat and dropset into cossack squats, this approach works for all muscle groups, as a fighter I like to do trap work in between neck bridge variations. The more you know, the more you grow. Thanks for helping us all to know more and do more: go Adam! go Bioneer!

Could you please make a video about the topic "mental barriers" .. " going beyond"... I really like david goggins approach to go the extra mile and started to push me a little bit more than what I thought was possible (for me), it is incredible. I mean I can't feel my shoulders but it's still great. What led me to this was that I realized during trainings (espacially calisthenics | pushups pullups etc.) that I pushed my "last rep" and my mind told me "ok thats enough" and I knew there was still some energy there but something was holding me back like "dude, wtf you doin? the couch is like literally next to you". It was harder to fight against my inner thought to just stop than to do some extra reps. Love your videos btw.

I really enjoy seeing any video that dips into the fascia details and I look forward to seeing more in the future. I'm very happy to be able to read more about it as it seems there is a lot of research being done on this topic. The science of things is a perfect marriage to trial and error. It seems there are folks who side heavily on one side or the other. I like how you mentioned the role of fascia and how it can change and grow differently depending on the movements practiced. It makes me wonder about the differences between a Parkour practitioner and a martial artist or a calisthenics practitioner and a farmer. What would be the differences between these? We know fascia would be enhanced most from the repetitive movements, naturally. However, would fascia be distributed evenly enough for each one to take on the other's roles in work and art? This is, of course, a question because all of them benefit from multi-muscle movements for most of the time. I also wonder how much fascia is affected with endurance versus speed movements. Here is a video my friend had found and passed along to me because of my fascination with the subject. I without my further comments until later. I hope this is useful to you and anyone interested. Stay safe, stay healthy, and have a peaceful evening! kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJKmc5iHYsyLnNU

Here’s another advice from a martial artists bionieer. When I see you punching you are to tensed. I like that you focus your power on your target your aiming at and ofc your physique is great. Just lose up your muscles before punching and tense them in right moment short before hitting. This will give you a big increase acceleration power.
@ivanmarquez2218

Now that you mention it, I've seen this Dynamical Systems Theory in a tangible way when it comes to videogames at a highly competitive level. For example, in a fighting game, practicing combos in training mode will never prepare you for the real deal. You actually become better in the game when you're under pressure, on the movement, unsure if your combo-launcher will connect, with a scoreboard against you, or to continue your combo once you actually start it. In other cases, like in CS:GO, practicing shootings headshots in an Aim Map will never prepare you to the unpredictability and pressure of dueling with a real human being in an uncomfortable angle, at a weird time, with a weird weapon and four other more people trying to shoot at you from possibly different angles. The most proffessional of players are those who are comfortable and in the capacity to respond to each and every awkward scenario that the game can throw at them, because their "muscle memory" is already adapted to the unpredictability of the situation. Yet again, the human brain is the 7th marvel of earth.
