We're all used to seeing this particular actor playing an obviously racist officer in these videos. However, in this video, the officer actually received a report of a stolen vehicle being driven by a black male in his 30s. He was arguably just following up on that report. Now, there are two procedural things that should happen in most police jurisdictions order to prevent a situation like this. First, modern police cars typically have computer terminals, and in addition to the radio report, the officer should have received a detailed description of the stolen car, including the license plate, if possible. Second, since the driver said it was a rental, the officer should have asked to see rental paperwork, which, even now, is provided by the rental car company. I imagine showing the app would also be sufficient. The main thing that's racist about this video is that the officer chose to make an arrest before asking for that paperwork or even radioing in for a detailed description of the stolen car. I'll concede that the officer "copping" an attitude (pun intended) could also be racist, although there may be the occasional policeman who is having a bad day or has an attitude problem in general and might display thinly veiled rudeness to pretty much everybody.

Mistakes can happen. Besides that, the car is a pretty generic sedan, and all the officer was given over the radio was "car reported stolen in your area" and "the driver is a black male in his 30s". That description could apply to hundreds of vehicles in a cop's patrol area. In a real life situation, the officer should have received a detailed description of the car over his cruiser's computer terminal, including a license plate number, in order to avoid situations like this one.

Nothing about what they were wearing, skin tone, height, hairstyle, tattoos, eye color or anything else that could differentiate him from any other black male! Nothing regarding the type of car stolen such as color, make and model. The cop didn't even bother to ask for more details. He just heard black male and took off all gung go! The sad thing is that scenarios like this take place in real life all the time. Cops get a poor description and the first black guy they see they attack.
