This is the one number from Cop Rock that has always stuck with me.

I remember watching this in 1990. I think about it when ever I see Kathleen Wilhoite on tv. It ripped my heart out then. It rips my heart out now.

I never forgot this. Very underrated show.

This was the best number in the series, hands down. Kathleen Wilhoite nailed it. The last verse after, “Don’t hate me, baby” is devastating. I watched this in college with other theater majors-we were all ready to laugh at the show, but this bit had everyone in tears.

God this song is such a masterpiece. It perfectly captures the tragedy of the moment and story. The way the actress performs it just sends it to another level. Shame the show got nerfed by some of the other elements it had, it could have really worked if some other parts of it were retooled. Maybe someday…

The Baby Merchant takes eleven grand and she only gets two hundred? Guess that's the "pleasure [he gets from] doing business the American way"

You would think from the song that the baby merchant was the Sandman. Patty, the character ODs soon after she gave away her baby. Patty's own mortality eminent and unavoidable. $200.00 dollar train ticket paid for by Patty for one Sand Man. A "person" of interest linked to her death.
