I flew on Copa when I went to the DR a few years ago and loved it. They did not speak English, but the service was just as good as First Class. We had complimentary real meals and drinks which included alcohol. I had forgotten about that little security check at the gate, weird, but whatever. I had no idea what to expect at the time, but was very pleased. 🌎

They make that security checking at the gate due to US regulations. Since Panama City is a huge hub for them to connect with many destinations in US (Miami, Orlando, Las Vegas, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Washington) they need to be sure people in connection is not getting banned items into the plane. I also found it weird and that was the explanation I got from one of the Copa Air staff members.

Copa is not a budget carrier like Spirit, they’re actually one of the best carriers in Latin America. Their prices are actually pretty good, and crew members are pretty knowledgeable and friendly .

Did I mention they were a budget carrier? I would agree that they aren’t in the same category like Spirit, i have no issues flying spirit, but Copa reminded me of Southwest, great prices, great service, thanks for watching 😊

COPA is the bomb! A bit expensive to Ecuador (JetBlue & Spirit are much cheaper) but awesome service and the meals are served with real utensils LOL. 🌎 BTW now you just got to come further south! Guayaquil is in a direct line from Miami... come one you know you wanna!

Yeah me and my family we have been flying with Copa for years and every time at the gate for the past I’ll say 20 years They have always done a secondary search always it never fails that’s why we never buy anything in the airport that we know we won’t finish because they don’t allow you to bring it on the plane because it’s an international flight

It’s because in Tocumen airport, arriving and departing passengers get mixed. So, if you go to US or some Europe cities, you need to pass security again to check for liquids as TSA rules since you can be coming from other airport. You don’t see that in any other airport, because the passengers don’t get mixed. Its and advantage for taking connecting flights since you go directly to your gate and don’t have to pass immigration and then enter again.

🌎 Copa is awesome, they fly to most Central America except Belize and most of the Caribbean, most of South America with very few exceptions. In the north they fly to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Vegas, New Orleans, Chicago, Boston, montréal and Toronto, New York, DC, Atlanta, Orlando, Tampa and Miami 3 times a day

Little more info. No Copa doesn’t fly only to Central America cities. Copa serve so far about 14 cities in USA, they added ATL, Baltimore and Austin, TX. they fly to all mayor cities in the rest of the Americas from Mexico to Argentina and the Caribbean 😉. Copa Airlines have been awarded First airline punctuality and they remained in first place for latin america airlines.

@@cherrysmart3500 it can be scary and tricky if you are coming to Panama for the first time and want to take The Metro. However my advice first of all us know where you are going. I can guide You If You tell me where you will be going If you want to get there by Metro. However other transportation options available are Uber, In Drive, taxi cabs. By the way the Metro is .35 cents Anything else about Panama You can ask me 🙂

Copa Airlines Passenger Service Agent Here 🙋🏻‍♂️ Yes! Our cheapest / most restrictive fare prices still allow you to have 1 personal bag/backpack and 1 carry-on bag (up to 10kg). Just remember to avoid carrying forbidden articles such as sharp objects, liquids over 100ml, corrosive sprays or glass objects and you'll be good to go 👌😉

BUYER BEWARE!!! Copa stole two international airline tickets from us that we "insured" but apparently civil unrest causing airport closure does not constitute a need for a refund. If you purchase from this airline, you are at risk of losing your money like we did. $1000 stolen for a flight they did not perform. ]
