Venezuelan here, since Canada's win against us I have followed this man like a magnet. I've never seen anything like it in the CONCACAF area. The way this guy talks, how confortable he is explaining his reasonings and ideas about the team is unique. Hes inspiring, focused...he has a plan, hes a man with a vision and that's incredible to see on this side of the world. I think Canada could have found a hidden gem here. Don't get me wrong, I still behind my beloved Vinotinto but...I will keep my eye on this guy, on this team. I think great things could come in the future for Canadian football. Time will tell.

Agree and very well said. I have been following him since Copa America, and been watching all his interviews. He has been a big spark to Canadian football and as a Canadian I’m fortunate and glad we got him esp. after what happened with the USMNT. Its amazing how one person can spark a whole nation in this sport. I’m hoping he will be that to soccer/football in Canada as Vince Carter was in basketball in Canada.

One thing that I liked a lot from him was that he learned the national anthem of Canada being an American, he sang "O Canada" with the players, having been in the job for just two months, very few coaches do that, in South America, several of the managers of national teams are from Argentina, even the coach of Venezuela is an Argentinian, Fernando "Bocha" Batista, he has never sung the national anthem of Venezuela with the players, he will never do it, and won;t bother to learn it either, these Argentinian coaches will even play for their home national team if needed, like Tata Martino, Argentinian who was the coach of Mexico during the last the World Cup, he let his home country (Argentina) win the match against Mexico; in Copa America, the manager of Colombia is Nestor Lorenzo, another Argentinian, he took out the best players of Colombia so that his home country could beat Colombia in the final

@raphaelthome5802 I think that's simply because there is less of a competitive pool in the women's game internationally. Even before Herdman, the Canadian women had no difficulties qualifying for Olympics and World Cups.

They hired the guy who left us mid season a few years previous. No matter. I wanted Celtic to hire Kjetil Knutsen. Now, I want the USMNT to hire Kjetil Knutsen. *DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THIS MEANS* ?!? it means that there is zero chance that the American national team will hire Kjetil Knutsen.

One thing Marsch really seems to understand is selling the team to Canada. He’s encouraged the players to accept every media interview. Marsch has been on multiple media outlets and immediately went to a CPL game after COPA to continue the moments UCM. Eyes on the sport, familiarity with the players and a continued emphasis on growth are all key and he certainly gets it. Marsch was meant for this team and this team was meant for Marsch

Jesse has nailed it right on the head. I was told by many get your son to L1 ASAP. I had been trying to get him their by age 17 but then L1 Ontario decided they needed more money and effectively "moved the goal post". Now we have U19 and L2 before you get to L1. To Jesse's point we think a 25yr old footballer is young is an abomination. There are guys in there 30's playing L1 because of how backwards our system is. They are taking spots that the younger guys are supposed to have and it has created an atmosphere where talented kids like my son will either get seen too late or not at all.......

Identifying young talent across the country would be a big step forward in establishing a strong Canadian soccer infrastructure. Equal to that is in identifying Canadian coaches, managers, and trainers with "know-how" so that they can be, like players, acknowledged, rewarded and brought up the ranks instead of scouting for and hiring (just because you can) men and women from elsewhere. If you want a strong national pride with an even stronger system in place, Keep it Canadian eh?!! 🇨🇦 Go Canada!! 🇨🇦
