The biggest thing that makes these boots so desirable is , with the K-leather, they mold to your foot. That's why old players like me liked getting them wet because they will (fit like a glove) after a while. Cannot say the same thing with todays plastic molded (although I do understand they somewhat dynamically fit your foot but not like leather) boots. True enough - k-leather does feel great on your feet as well.

Nice review. One of the best football boots ever produced, very comfortable to wear. For soft ground, there's World Cup. Cheaper versions the Kaiser. Agree, definitely heavier than the ones produced these days which feels more plasticy. It would also depend on which positions they play. Another comparable boots is the Puma King. 👍

Ive just bought my first pair yesterday, and I have a game tonight on turf field, Im really excited to try them specially since the adidas nemesis I have have recently been digging into my soles by playing on turf. Im most excited because the studs are shorter and wider than the nemesis that I have as well! I tried them on yesterday at my house with grip socks and already the biggest difference is that you can't even feel them on your feet, they are super comfortable and haven't even played with them yet. I am 31 btw and have played futbol my whole life and owned many pairs through out the years, so far they are the most comfortable pair I've owned next to the adidas d'or which unfortunately got stolen and couldn't find them anymore but im excited to see how it plays out tonight

Getting ready to purchase my 6th pair. I rotate Mundial purchases between turf (Team) and traditional (Copa). They are the best design. At the end of the review, the kid said they feel light, but he did not try them in the rain and they do get heavier, but as someone noted below the rain helps the leather form to your feet better.

i still wear them however it is more of a defenders shoes or midfielders shoes, i find them a classic and order them online when my old ones breakdown. Also note beckham didnt wear them, he used to wear predators, maybe before he signed with adidas, but when he was with adidas as a sponsor he had custom made adidas predators.

First one i had was when was 11, its was second hand had a little bit of tear which was fixed and wore it for 3 years in a very rough condition, second pair i bought it in 2004 and i still had it just the sole is little bit wore off and starting to break but i have a two brand new pairs in closet one with 13 studs and 1 with 6 change able studs and ya my 13 year son owns a pair too😂.

Copa Mundial is one of my dream boots, here in India not available. And the Puma Maradona argitina boot are quite same. I check the in detail that during that time and now manufacturing differences are that boots are not that much sharpe as compared to old one. Adizero 2014 is also a iconic boots for me. ❤❤❤❤

Adidas football boots or football shoes are just fantastic they are second to no other manufacturers always wear what you think feels the best on your feet not what others think and that goes for every manufacturer your feet have to last you a lifetime the boots and shoes last about twelve months if your lucky

Had them many years ago copa mundials and world cup boots. But there are some things I don't fancy about kangaroo leather. Maybe it was because the turf I played. I like lotto stadio better. Still have a lotto stadio in my cupboard whenever I need to play. Yeah the tongues on copas are annoying because they don't stay fold properly for long. They are still great boots but I like others more.

he's just a kid, he probably doesn't buy his own shoes either and doesn't really know. As you say, these are expensive shoes, they've basically reached designer status by this point. But no reason for a kid to know that, a lot of the oldschool football media of poor people playing etc would rock these, and they're also not super flashy, so easy to see why a kid's brain would associate it with poverty.

Had a pair of these. They are terrible compared to Morelia 2 by Mizuno Japan. So much heavier and especially in the terrain I play and train in, which the field is often wet and slightly muddy. The copas really will absorb a lot of water and feels extremely heavy. Of course it's the player and not the boots. But u can't help but think u can run faster in more modern boots

Sort of - Yes, he did wear PUMA King almost exclusively, but very occasionally was in Adidas Copas. I was surprised to notice him in adidas too. Even Matthäus, perhaps the most devoted PUMA player wore Adidas Copa very occasionally.

As someone who had Copa’s for several seasons; - they don’t make them how they used to, even if you apply leather cream regularly, the kangaroo leather they use these days (assuming it’s still 100% kangaroo leather) doesn’t cope well with regularly getting muddy & soaking wet. - the sole is flat. comfortable to wear, but you notice a difference in agility movement; especially quick turns and short distance sprints. i guess the ‘modern’ sprint frame that makes up most boots isn’t all hoax, in comparison to the copa’s at least anyway. - make no mistake about it, these boots are real leather and hence heavier than the plastic boots of the present day, despite what coach and his little prodigy are saying. weight is a difference that you absolutely can feel. - comfort wise and longetivity of wear, this is where the copa is unbeatable in my opinion. when i first got them, i used to wear them around the house - that’s how comfortable they were. Overall, it’s a decent boot review - though not entirely consistent with my own experiences and the opinions of the majority of copa mundial reviews of the present day. If you play football socially, and you value your feet’s comfort, definitely a boot i would recommend. however, sadly no longer compares to the innovations offered by modern boots (e.g., laceless, light-weight, sprint frame, stud placement/structure).
