I've been to Istanbul on that same week, and when I learned about the derby Galatasaray-Fenerbahce I couldn't miss it, precisely that same derby you've been to. The atmosphere at the Stadium was just great, a true life experience every football fan should have at least once in his life. The supporters didn't stop singing during the whole match, they made my day incredible. Besides, my whole stay in Istanbul was awesome: this city is so magic and I can't wait to return.

it depends on the teams that playing. for example, bursaspor games are usually funny and their fans are making everyone entertain but if the game is against besiktas you can feel the rage in the city even in the morning.

You forgot to mention that there is a massive third team in Istanbul, with probably the loudest fans in Europe if not the World, Besiktas! I was lucky enough to get a ticket to Fenerbahce - Besiktas in 2007 and it was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. I must also say the 5,000 Besiktas away fans were maybe even louder than the 45,000 Fenerbahce home fans. Those Carsi are a VERY loud fan group!

Been to Turkey 3 or 4 times as a kid and teenager growing up, I am from Scotland. I remember I and my family were in the markets where they sell clothes, food etc everything you can think of and I made a friend at my hotel who was Turkish and he was fenerbache fan and gave me his football top as a gift, I wore it out to the market one day and what a mistake it was 😂😂😂 grown men (obviously Galatasaray) fans were spitting on the floor swearing in my face etc haha it was madness here’s me a chubby 13 year old kid who had no idea how serious it was. Needless to say I never wore the top again in Turkey anyway 😂

Went to Millwall VS Charlton away as a Charlton supporter, not much happened. The Millwall fans were obviously screaming at us and we were pretty much doing the same but nothing kicked off, it was a pretty dead match. The only thing that really happened was when we were penned in at the end for like 40 mins. Not saying you shouldn't be careful or wary at those games, just I don't think it's what it used to be, however I've only seen 4 Millwall VS Charlton games and they've all been in the last two seasons. Also, all the stuff I just mentioned was things I saw, I did hear that apparently last season we smashed up the toilets at Millwall.
