Hi Laura! I’m a long time lurker but I felt the need to comment. You are an inspiration in so many ways! I think you have grown so much in being a single mom and choosing a more stable life for yourself and your family. In one of your last videos you mentioned taking things slow dating-wise. You were never going to rush ever again. So I think that counts too for any decisions regarding living situations. You being so confused around Stephen staying or going, is because you felt pressured into making a decision that was conflicting with your boundaries and your feelings. So anyway, I just wanted to say that you KNOW what is good for you and that whenever you feel stressed or pressured in any situation it is not because you don’t know what you are doing, you are rocking it!

You're a rock star Momma. I get a lot of inspiration from you. Being a mom, a sober addict, and someone that struggles with mental health, I draw a lot of patience and peace from the way I see you interact with your children and the way you talk your way through spiraling. I just love ya girl. Thank you for what you're doing.

I had to retire 12 years sooner than my peers due to medical reasons. Over time I have lost all my support people. Days can go by that I don't even talk to another human. I tell all my problems to my dogs. They really don't seem to care. But at least they never laugh at me.

I’ve made those cookies before. I actually like to bake them in one piece, I press the mixture into an oven safe skillet or shallow baking dish and then I put a scoop of vegan vanilla ice cream in the center and some chocolate syrup and eat it with a spoon. (Not by myself, normally I make it as a dessert when my niece and nephew come to visit) It’s really fun! We have a “camp out” in our living room. I don’t have children of my own but I love being an aunt! ❤

Ps. So proud of you for being a newfound boundaries queen and realizing it’s maintenance to do your meetings. Your neighbors seem super cool and the road is gorgeous. Very envious of your home. It’s so gorgeous. And forgot to say I died at the electrolysis butthole moment! 😂😂😂😂 and I’m not an exercise fan bc I’m obese and hurt all over from arthritis and spine pain from failed spinal surgery so a simple walk is a b word for me and super painful and miserable but it def boosts the endorphins and I feel mentally better just after taking a walk. But then I start hurting from it so then it balances out to helpful and not helpful. If I was healthy and your size I would be down for the Alfie walk and jog and blowing off steam. I’m looking at going back to a pool for my movement bc I love water more than anything when I need to move my body. I’m a mess and trying to get on top of a binge eating issue and it’s got all the hallmark symptoms of food addiction. It’s hard and I also have a very strong propensity to codep relationships so I really related there. I’m so so happy you and Steven are working it out on parenting and some healthy boundaries. Open up your own time away from him and see what opens up for you like some more time for self care and less high anxiety in the mom calls. She will be happy to see and hear it. The kids will likely flourish just a little more too if you are more calm and less intense and anxious. Having ADD is hard enough. That alone needs a one day at a time focus. Also I def feel a ton better when I back up and focus on that ODAT and not omg life is so overwhelming mentality. I am prone to anxiety and overwhelm also so can relate there. Question is do you feel out of sorts when things are calm and peaceful and going as planned and stable? Do you find yourself anxious when it’s like that bc it’s unfamiliar? And if so what do you do to calm down inherent sense of waiting for the other shoe to drop? Curious to what your support meetings are focusing on that you relate to also. Are they all AA/NA or other support groups as well. Do you have any autism mom support groups there that you can attend? You are doing great things. Don’t freak out if the stability makes you uncomfortable. It’s not familiar as much as many years of chaos and instability. Sending a big hug and hopes you feel grounded and get to go play outside and move your body. Is there a swimming pool there where you can take the kids for lessons and family swims? My local pool has a therapeutic pool as well as the main one where they do lessons for autistic kids. I’ve seen them in practice and some kids have to work their way thru the sensory part of things like getting in and sensations of water, changes in breathing and temperature changes. I watched one kid who went from screaming and being allowed to have a meltdown and then just lay down on a ramp into the pool in water that was ankle high and at the end he was in and practicing with a kick board. If there’s a ramp into the water, it really helps. Anyways have a great rest of your week.

He tolerates the helmet, he is communicating and laughing and letting you know what he needs. I’m thrilled you worked through having Stephen go back to his house. I hope he pays for it and helps you with the kiddos financially. How is your mom. It was nice to hear you mention talking to her. I miss your mama!!!! How is your dad doing? The oat milk as well as most other grain type foods in the u.s are uner massive scrutiny right now for using a highly toxic fertilizer which is known to cause major delays in development. You can look this list up and California is currently wrapping up a class action lawsuit over this. My son was one of the many victims and its possible that this is playing a role in your children too. We need to be aware of these things. We are all literally on the front lines when it comes to our children.

Also, just in case it's helpful, those magnetic locks you can get cheap at am@zon might deter Poppy from your makeup. If she learns she can just tear it off, it won't help, but maybe? Alternatively, a little safe. I got one for my meds because my child is drawn to them, and it's been great.

Laura. Logic says she’s not going to stop getting into the makeup right now. 1. Put it up and or away. 2. Get her some she can have just for herself. (Marshall’s/Tj maxx for the win there) and keep yours in a kid proof container. Maybe one of those tackle box looking containers with a lock for a little bit so she stops focussing on yours and make her a mini makeup table and mirror in her own space. Redirect. I think telling her to ask is cool but she’s too tempted right now. It’s like leaving a box of cookies at her height and saying don’t eat them. Practice permission asking with something a little less expensive. Lol and if she loves makeup, play the hell out of makeup in her space and get her a stand up mirror to play in as well as maybe some dress up costumes as she’s liking playing with supplies to alert her appearance. Normal developmental thing but maybe as she loves it it will also distract from baby shark obsession. Maybe grab Alfie some costumes also that are acceptable to his needs. Not sure if he has high sensory aversion but maybe you can take him and see what he likes at the costume store or section in target. Anything you don’t want her into though, put up or put a lock on. Make sure if you take medicine or vitamins or even gummy vitamins they are on child lock also up and away. At her age I was into it all and got into eating once a bottle of baby aspirin and once a ton of fluoride tablets and my poor mom had to induce vomiting at home to keep me safe. lol 😅 Also those round batteries and laundry pods if you have those. It’s scary when you think they are safe bc you are right there and one second later you are in a panic calling poison control. Maybe do a review on home childhood safety bc she’s much more into things than Alfie was. She’s so cute it’s hard to be mad though.

In terms of milk, what my pediatrician said (and makes sense to me) is to look for high protein and make sure it's fortified with iron and vitamin d at minimum. I also look for DHA or I add DHA drops (for kids). I try not to be too crunchy of a mama because I don't want to pass on my ED to my kiddo, but it makes sense that protein and fat are good for growing littles. Mine is allergic to whole milk so we do unsweetened, fortified soy and add DHA drops (pediatrician approved). My little is 16 months. ALSO, I thought he would struggle with the switch because whole milk is quite sweet, but he loved it so, yay!

So oat milk is a carbohydrate so turns into sugar when digested so nut milk would be better. Make sure the plant milk is just three ingredients- nut or if you want to stick with oat then just oats, water and salt. No oils or other additives. Whole oat in porridge not chopped or powered is better as it's slower to break down into the sugar into your blood stream. But because oat milk had blended oats it like instant sugar into your blood stream. But girl you do what's right for you and your children. I think the whole thing with oatly is that it's not three ingredients so look for an option which is three ingredients. Ok anyway you get what I mean. Love you and you are amazing but you already know that ❤

God bless your energy. As for the broken toys yup not with my eldest (he's now 20 😱) he really looked after all his toys but my second (also a boy he's almost 9) wow he's a totally different breed I don't know if it's the 11yr age gap or the different family dynamics, I was a single parent and very young (early 20s) when I had my eldest I never had a lot of disposable income so I had to save for toys and if I didn't have the money I had to say no but the younger one I've always worked and his dad (were still together 12yrs now) works also and I work in a supermarket where we sell toys so he usually gets treats more often than he really should but he would break things within a day or 2 if getting them it's so frustrating I know but they do grow out of that I remember my little brothers used to always break their toys also drove my parents insane

Re oat milk. There is no single oat milk. And the oat element is a figleaf. Really it generally is is rapeseed milk, which is fine if done carefully, but the food techs generally focus on making it as delicious as possible so it becomes habitual (drama queens would say "addictive") so they arent prioritising health in quite the way you might want to. Personally I enjoy it so 🤷 if you are living a healthy nutritional life, which I think you are, you can have some imperfect treats.

I think it's probably pretty normal for kids to be a little "obsessed" with tv shows that way. My daughter also had an "obsession" with Little Einsteins for a long time. She's 17 and she doesn't still watch it, lol. Your kids are amazing!

Oat milk is fine, too many people fall for misinformation and switch to "healthier" options when there really is no need. Sugar isn't the devil, a little bit will not harm you

Regarding Baby Shark ..it’s very normal bc children LOVE and find comfort in repetition and familiarity. Both of which is provided by baby shark, Miss Rachael etc
