Randy, you always pick the best music for working on stuff. I replay your vids just for the music while tabbing to do other things after I watch them.

LOL Thank you. I pay a yearly fee to use this music in my videos. Glad you like it!

My smog guy said it could take 200 miles before some codes are completely cleared. It looked like you put anti-seize on the O2 sensor...good job, but did you put some on the shield bolts? I was also told that the cable length can make a difference on the primary O2 sensor because of resistance. Generic ones come with a long cable that you're supposed to cut down to the length of the original. It may not make a difference in the one you replaced. Sounds like you're getting over that cold. Good.
@javoxiry23236 жыл бұрын
Randy, if CEL comes on, usually O2 sensor spacer adapter will do the trick to clear it.
@AutoAuctionRebuilds6 жыл бұрын
This was due to a broken heater circuit. The O2 was still working other than the heater.

What were the symptoms of a bad o2? I have the same vehicle bit it wont idle. Onky code thats showing up is the same in this video p0138 ff. Dont wanna spend 100s on a sensor just for it to ne something else.
@DaddytechEnt6 жыл бұрын
*those the magnettic ride shocks?Bilstein does those better than most if my air ride stuff ever dies on the caddy's i may just bypass the sensor with resistors and try a set of those*

These are regular shocks.

I have that odb2 device and I have a check engine light on my new project but it’s not showing the check engine error code. It’s just showing the error just that the check engine light is on.

I guess you answered my question at the end of video about Bluedriver vs Torque. Sounds like you can do a lot more.

I used Torque before getting this one. Torque Pro is a good app but this does far more.

That is right under where your rear seat was melted in the other rx8? The downstream sensor is out....bad cat, getting too hot....... Something to look at.
@jonniespecter6 жыл бұрын
WHAT! You did not flood the car? I've had my RX-8 for about 8 months now, ever since I got it, I've never stalled or flooded, but if I have to move it outside or something I always wait until the car is half way warmed up so I can turn it off because I'm scared of "flooding" it...
@AutoAuctionRebuilds6 жыл бұрын
I have yet to flood this one.
@andrewhopson85786 жыл бұрын
Check your ignition health. A healthy ignition can handle shutdowns like this. Only time I'm fearful is when it's super cold outside and I'm moving it a short distance. Then I do the 3k rev up and shutdown dance.

Great video. So when a car throws a code like that, replacing the sensor isn't enough I guess, like you have to clear the code afterward as well? I guess the car isn't smart enough to detect there is a New sensor automatically. Good to know!
@AutoAuctionRebuilds6 жыл бұрын
It will clear the code eventually. It usually takes a few cycles to clear.
@drezee71736 жыл бұрын
A low efficient cat could be a clogged cat. A clogged cat can lead to excess backpressure and a blown engine
@AutoAuctionRebuilds6 жыл бұрын
For sure. You can usually tell a clogged cat by rotten egg smell, or using an IR temp before and after. Should be a very noticeable difference in temp if clogged.

@shagsshag1496 жыл бұрын
Hey dude! Just some friendly advice,throw some wd40 or similar on any exhaust bolts and let it sit for a minute before trying to remove.Also next time instead of buying a sensor try cleaning the sensor maybe with carby clean and air gun it and see how you go!! None the less keep up the good work/videos and stop trying make every car brand new ya ocd😂we discussed this before you said you would🤪

So if you were worried about breaking the nuts due to rust why not hit it with some WD-40 first? Question 2 what you don't have a wrench to properly fit the 02 ? LoL

You should never turn an RX-8 off when it's cold. You can flood it and that can be expensive to fix or clean out.

hey,the Corvette has tractor suspension compared to the rx8's double a-arm and multi link suspension!but hopefully the bilstein's will help a little bit,maybe look at the sway bar and links on the vette..
@MrTydriver6 жыл бұрын
Sometimes, simpler is better.. Especially if it works, and the C6 can easily pull well over 1G laterally on the right tires so I'd say tractor suspension works just fine.. If it aint broke don't fix it ;-) Just my $0.02

Auto Auction Rebuilds I just installed a catless header on my girlfriends car and completely removed the secondary from the exhaust but left it plugged in. No check engine light thus far as it runs perfect. I kept getting check engine light using a spark plug non fouler.
