How much time you wasted on it? When you could have been a Builder, Plumber, Joiner or Electrician on £200 per day no problem. You do know that they are ALWAYS worse than you can see on the BASIC Vague images. Then there is the fee for letting you buy online (which is the only way you can buy) at about £90. Then there is the 'Buyers fee which is roughly about 10% of the final price. Then there is a fee for them bringing out of their yard to your recovery vehicle. Then there is the cost of transport back to you place. Then there is all the damage you don't see which is the 'game' THE LESS YOU SEE THE MORE YOU WILL PAY. Make sure you got a good supplier of headache tablets.

Well good job I’m also a joiner lol, copart is definitely the worst place to buy salvage cars from but it’s also probably the easiest place to buy one, they take money from you at every turn they possibly can but I do love buying and fixing cars, it’s like anything you have got todo your research because they ant going to help you!

Just wanna say how lucky it is for you to have a copart in your country since for us it costs us a lot. For example if we buy a car for 2000 euro in US copart with taxes and delivery it will average at around 6 grand. UK copart the same 2000 euro car will cost 4 grand and in FIN copart and DE copart around 3.5 grand. The not factoring transporting from the port to my house and the repairs of the car. The only way to make profit or even make even is buying a very expensive car for verrryyy cheap and using sketchy companies who deliver in like 5 months (usual delivery time is like 3 months through a legit company) through different countries to avoid the 30% import tax. Also UK cars for us are just useful as donors. I dont know why I made this comment since it doesnt serve any purpose other than for me to say out loud all this annoying bullshit when i see you buy a car thats damaged for 1.5k when the same crashed car costs 4k for us😢

Sorry too here this mate is there not over auction sites you can use in your country? Also it’s not all rainbow and sunshine I’ve put a lot of effort and time in too making it nice and it owes me around 4K at the moment

@@restoringsalvage there are auction sites but its mostly just cars that are barely alive (rusted, engines barely running) and pretty much none of the cars are crash damaged. Except imported or you can even buy cars that are still on the way from USA. And i understand that after fixing in costs 4k but for us its the same price before even starting to fix the car. The resellers or whatever you call them can do this and make profit because of the trucks with the ability to carry 2 or 3 cars that they have. Just a regular person who eants to buy something like this ( crash damaged car ) is too expensive and after fixing its the same as buying a non damaged one and then using a hammer to make some dents in it. :Dd

Just checked how much it costs to buy a crashed car from the US 2000 Auction Win price 600 auction tax 500 biurocracy 1000 for the transoprt to container and for the container (30%) 1350 tax for import to Lithuania 300 unloading from the ship 300 delivery from the port to my town TOTAL: 6050 euro

when i bought a car without a v5 and copart asked me to tell the dvla i sold the car so that i can get a v5, it just sounds really dodgy. ive bought the car but they want me to say ive sold it? it makes no sense to me. anyone have a similar issue?

Decide your max price, and STICK TO IT.......... Don't forget to factor in all the extra hidden costs. More often than not, I see cars sell for way too much, and you may aswell just buy a straight one....

You only pay VAT on the vehicles if it states so, example many vans you have to pay VAT and it will be the normal 20%!

Yes you can pick them up, and drive away from copart York and Peterlee, as I do so regularly

So it’s about £400 on top of the winning bid if you pick up yourself if delivered to you then it’s additional 300£ depending on how far the lot is I’m trying to find out how much they charge for 40mile delivery

No it depends on how much you spend there is a calculator too calculate how much fees you will pay and there is also a delivery section witch you can put your postcode in and it will tell you how much they will charge you

it used to be very cheap but it more than doubled recently. cost me £165+vat from nearby depot but they then take off the lot retrieval fee so it works out cheaper than that

You can tax the vehicle with the green slip or go too the post office and you can tax it there

Forget about that, at least your getting something for this payment. Copart charge about £ 100 for their 'Virtual bidding fee' which is the only way to buy LMFAO. Then there is ALL the other fee's. They don't exist to help the customer mate! Your the victim!"!

Yes so basically with a car N vehicle it’s mainly bolt on bolt off parts so you fix all the damage get it mot and it’s ready too go

@@jaysimpson6857 you can repair it yourself but you need more expensive tools too pull out bent legs or welding I would also get it checked by a professional after the repair just to make sure everything is safe if you haven’t done it before I would personally stick too cat n till you are more comfortable with it!

@@restoringsalvage I bought a category C car 15 years ago and had it professionally repaired, after which I had to have some kind of Vosa engineer inspection for the standard of repairs, once it had been signed off as properly repaired it was allowed to go for M.O.T. It seems the regulations are a lot more relaxed these days, quite concerning really but like you say cat N is the safer bet, not just for restoration but for buyers too. I imagine there’s plenty of poorly repaired cat S vehicles on the road.

How much do they charge for delivery if the lot is 40miles away? And once you join when you bidding do they tell you the total price you will have to pay buyer fee delivery etc in advance or you only find out once you won the bid?

You can find out by checking on there different softwares but they will tell you ones you have bought the vehicle as well

Honestly, it’s all about doing the research and figuring out the issues as best as you can, before buying it but I mainly stick to cat N vehicles!

It was Copart Bristol, and deliver too Plymouth about 120 miles, It cost me now about £240 I don't use copart too deliver the cars anymore!

Yes but you will have to pay auction fees and delivery fee on top.

It says on the windscreen, if there is an “X” at the end of the long number, then it’s an insurance job. But if it’s a “C” then it’s a customer vehicle!

Unfortunately not from copart some auctions allow it but most vehcials from copart are not road worthy straight out the box

Copart 'sell' or trys to sellI in MY OPINION by 'trotting' bids up using fictitious bidders.probably in Copart offices. 'Come on' cars re-entered week after week and buyers winning lots and then receiving a Bid cancellation notice totally wasting buyers time. Copart hide damage too and list two pictures of a Radio and not a close up of damage. They always take photos at a vague angle because it suits them. The less you see the better for them and cars / vans which have obviously been swimming listed as 'does not start'. Copart is just vague top to bottom and a waste of time. They even sell private individuals complete and utter rubbish now too which to the trained eye stands out like a sore thumb. BUT YOU CRACK ON COPART FANBOY AND A SINCERE 'GOOD LUCK'
