Buy the Caprice! I would if I was there. That's not only the safe bet car. But the old Caprice and Crown Victoria are going up in popularity. People like the old road boat body on frame design. I'd replace the bumper, have the dash redone, fix any little tidbits and the AC, the make $2000 on it. Or maybe $1300 to $1500 after parts and auction fees. It's a good flip car for someone looking to get their first vehicle. Especially since it has the LS and looks so clean.

Randy, I'd jump all over that Caprice! Those were very reliable, and it looks like the previous owner actually cared about it, and took very good care of it. They even dumped some money into new parts! The digital cluster might just have a loose, or corroded wire! That was pretty common on Caprice's, and other GM cars from that era!

FWIW, X300's (which is what that series of XJ is) are widely regarded as the most reliable modern Jaguars. The 6 cylinder engines are usually bullet proof as well as the 4 speed auto. They are heavy on suspension bushes because of the weight and the fact the bushes are quite compliant which helps give jags such a great ride. They handle years of neglect and just keep going in my experience .. and I've been around them since they were new in the mid 90s. Cheers from Australia!

The 1994-96 Chevy caprices with the digital dashes are known to go dead or fade especially with the 94, usually when that happens, you can clean the connections with alcohol, I’ve had tons of caprices and had a few with that problem, and when I cleaned the connections it fixed the problem.

You get many Lincoln LSs showing up at auctions out west? I'd recommend picking one up. They are actually really nice to drive, they gotta nice sporty feel. They are a little on the unrivaled side at times, depending on miles and how well they were taken care of. They look like a BMW, and drive better then a BMW. Along with a nice 3.9 DOHC V8.

Would love to see the Caprice on the Channel. Not sure if you noticed, but it does have one hydraulic lifter that had leaked down. I could hear it knocking on the cold start for a short time, then it filled and the noise stopped. It will get very loud if you put the car right in gear while it's noisy. It will not do it again until another cold start. This is a common issue on LT1 engines and does not mean the engine is on it's way out. It does however scare off some buyers when they hear that noise on a cold start. I have a Roadmaster 5.7 LT1 that does the same thing.
