I like the Taurus. It is an odd color, I’ll give you that, but I really like the interior color, that sets the exterior color off I think. That one would be an easy fix.

I nearly purchased a Fusion that same color and my mom did purchase an Escape that color. It is called Sunset and it is a very striking color, that is for sure. In a world full of Silvers and Grays, that color really stands out. I liked the Taurus, too. By the way, I think when Randy touched the key pad, he accidentally locked the car. I am kind-of surprised that the car would allow that when the car was running, though. Having the car running should disable the key pad in my opinion.

Don't feel bad, Randy. I always stress out about the possibility of locking a key in a car. Now I have a car with a push button start so I don't have to worry about is so much but before I did, if ever I was planning to close the door with the car running, I'd roll down the driver's side window just in case I did accidentally lock it. I noticed that you started doing that, too :) LOL!!!

if you press the 7/8 & 9/0 keys on a ford keypad it locks the car, pressing 3/4 after entering the code unlocks the other 3 doors, and the 5/6 key pops the trunk after entering the code.

@@nomanjones4803 they all do, under the assumption that you'd like to leave your car running with the heat/ac on and not get it stolen & that you know the code to get back in. they all do this, as there are several ways to know your code when you own the vehicle

On the Taurus you pressed the 7 and 9 button at the same time which locks the car so you can leave your keys in it to go swimming ect.

The Jeep 11:25 has the safety fuel cutoff in case of an accident. There is a reset method in the owners manual. For the Taurus, did you try the keypad to unlock it?

I know you can't say anything derogatory about copart but the fact is their function is to maximize profits for insurance companies and themselves. They are experts at taking pics that don't always show the whole picture. They may show the mileage but the pic will be close up to avoid showing other warning lights. They don't always show blown bags. When it says "enhanced" they will piece damaged parts together with zipties to make a vehicle look better. You are right about coming to see the car in person. That goes for buying anything!

On the Ford, I did that to an Edge I bought. Took it home and was wiping it down and hit the 7/8 - 9/10 buttons at the same time. That locks the doors. Good thing the previous owner had the combination card still in her wallet.

Randy, when you see a car listed as run & drive that won't start when you're at the lot, it's probably shenanigans. Some other bidder wants the vehicle, and has done something simple like pull the fuel pump relay so it won't start, discouraging would-be competition.

I suspect that unusual colour Taurus might well have been written off due to the problem of matching the paint for the replacement wing/fender. If the can't match the paint then they'll end up having to blend the paint down the side of the car and that's going to cost a lot of money. I rather suspect the reason that it might have smelled flooded inside is that the impact of the wheel against the bulkhead has probably cracked the seam sealer on the panel joins. Then, with that being a water run off area for the scuttle, the rain water has been getting inside behind the carpet. That's pretty common damage on modern vehicles that have suffered suspension damage... Well, now you know what happens when you press the external key pad while the car is running...

Buy the Taurus! It locked because you hit a button or buttons on the key pad that locks all the doors. Tundra might be good if low enough $. If it has their 5.7 L it's a powerful engine. You are right about the 3 valve f-150 motors. RUN from that engine. Amongst their problems is timing change failures. Friend's went out at 104,000 on a truck that was well maintained since new. Only good was that he was driving slow enough that it did not wreck his engine.
