There are a ton of these frogs around my pool where I live in Alabama. I played this video accidentally without headphones and all of a sudden there were like 50 of them all croaking at the same time XD

That's funny. They always go wild here on the Fourth of July because they think the fireworks are a thunderstorm bringing rain.

So far out of all the cope gray tree frog calls recorded here on youtube. This one has to be the most clear. Almost alway get a call back with this one.

I just found out mine died, I cried hard for my little guy...I'll miss him. I'm listening to this because it's nostalgic to me...

Yeah they’re cute frogs. They’re surprisingly easy to handle, even wild ones. They’ll happily sit on your hand, at least in my experience. Every wild one I’ve met was fairly friendly.

A couple of months ago, I got 2 little gray tree frogs. These shy little frogs were starting to sing at random intervals, but not very often. With the hope of encouraging more singing, I started playing gray tree frog sounds to see if they'd respond. After sifting through quite a few different gray tree frog sound videos, I had nearly given up hope. However, when my little frogs heard this video, they started singing in response! I'm so happy to hear them sing! Thank you so much for posting this video!

Thank you for helping me to identify these beautiful frogs. I just found about a thousand tadpoles at different stages and the frogs guarding the area. I didn’t know what type but this sounds exactly and looks very similar to what I found tonight. Thank you.

Copes gray tree frog. It's one of the loudest frogs in the continental U.S next to spring peepers.

Oh so they do sound different than regular gray tree frogs! It sounds faster and a different pitch.
@897652093 жыл бұрын
Cope's Gray is a different species. (Hyla chrysoscelis)

The Gray Tree Frogs have a more sputtery, lower-pitched, and shorter call compared to the Cope’s

It took me years to figure this frog sound. I have a lot of these annoying rascals next to my grandparents pool. They do this every freakin night!🤦🏻♂️

Hmm I live in Rhode Island and last summer opened my door to find one or more gray tree frogs stuck to my glass storm door, was super cool. These guys hung around my yard all over the place. I don’t know if they were cope’s or regular gray tree frogs but they were super cool either way!
@897652092 жыл бұрын
They're basically impossible to tell apart without the call. In southern Maryland we allegedly have both, but I've only ever heard Cope's. Either way, they're pretty rad.

They have the ability to produce a sort of anti feeze to protect their cells while they hibernate.

From around 21 ish to 25 there’s a popping in the back, that’s kind of rapidly repeating. What frog is that?
@897652092 жыл бұрын
That's also a Cope's Gray Treefrog, but it's the sound they make in the water while swimming.

I can’t tell if we have those outside our house or if it’s just green tree frogs

Specifically search for the COPE’S grey tree frog. The grey tree frog is not the same animal. Cope’s grey, also known as the southern grey tree frog, has this high pitched call. The typical grey tree frog has the lower pitched call.

You should film a video of the eastern gray tree frog call
