As someone who works in mental health, I really appreciate when people like you - whose content doesn't have a mental health focus - still take the time to acknowledge and share your experience and your tools or coping mechanisms to share with others. I also like what you had to say about open communication when you're feeling overwhelmed and unsupported - you're right, people can't read your mind!

There’s no way I could’ve done vlogmas during my four/five year stint working in fashion. Especially here in NYC. I think people underestimate just how demanding it is. And you’re better than me... because I surely cried every time I had a sit down and talk at work.

I'm glad your tears helped wash away the initial angst and spiraling. I agree with all that you said! I've had countless jobs within fashion and retail and there are so many times I've cried or internally combusted from keeping it in. No good, on the latter. I have found that corporate fashion is a lot more clique-ish and until you're "in" you are not a part of the transparency when things seem unfair and overwhelming at work. So you have no one to talk to. I wish us ladies would speak together on this more. I feel like the tension in offices would be annihilated. ** Side note to things to film, it might not fit in with the vlogmas, so maybe after, but I'm pretty sure I helped you out over the phone, on a backordered item when I worked at Gucci awhile back, any who, I am looking for a new job again and finally starting to believe that I deserve something higher. I absolutely love your dressed up and casual style, and would love a video of like "A work week in clothes,/ Clothes Story at Work" sort of deal. I need interview outfit ideas to look professional, express myself, and avoid looking like a reject-able drone. Sorry for the book! Am I alone here ladies?? xx

When you mentioned, part time job but full time job expectations, i feel like you should really put the foot down, communicate with them and managing expectations. If youre being paid part time but making full time output, then its not fair on you. But i think you pretty much covered and addressed this in the video

It must be overwhelming doing Vlogmas and working at the same time, I really appreciate how much time must go into making these videos! Love what you said about transparency, I hope you feel less stressed soon. Another great video ♡

I feel ya, I have two jobs and the moment I try to chill; I get a billion emails and calls telling me they want or need something. Take a breath and handle one thing at the time, that's really helped me handle stress and anxiety

Thank you for your honesty and transparency with your viewers. A couple of weeks ago, I confronted my boss and told him that I wasn't receiving the help I needed at work also, and it really helped the situation. Hope you're feeling better!

Frustration cries are the worst and the best. So many realizations of what you can do with your 100%. Also I think most people who experience this are always working at like 90%, so feeling overwhelmed is a weird vulnerability-type of feeling we aren’t used to. Just remember to keep moving forward, and this too shall pass ❤️😘

This could be completely off but... sometimes it is JUST ONE person at work that is giving the bad vibes and bringing your work and efforts down behind your back. Follow your intuition. Love, Rachel, you are so generous in doing vlogmas, much love, Rita

There is something so beautiful and raw about addressing and acknowledging your true feelings and thoughts. I really think crying is a good way to detox the stress outside of your system. Have a moment or two scream, shout or as you did just cry. Then pick yourself up again because you are STRONG and tomorrow is a new day with new chances.

GIRL first of all you're doing a-mazing. Watching your vlogs (ones like these in particular) I can relate with the feeling of stress, needing to do everything and do it "right" and feeling like there's not enough time. But the fact that you can work through these feelings while on your commute in a constructive and productive way already puts you on the right track. The fact that you can handle your channel and a job at the same time is really inspiring and not something that everyone will have the courage to do. Keep adjusting and learning you're inspiring!

Thank you for sharing this side, Rachel! I know it probably isn't as fun to go through or share as glamorous trips and fun weekends, but this really resonates with me! I too have had my share of moments being incredibly overwhelmed and frustrated at work the past few months, and it is really comforting to see that someone who I really do admire like you goes through similar things, and to see how you go about expressing your emotions and dealing with the situation maturely. Definitely agree a good cry is great, and then brushing off and creating actionable steps on what can actually help. but one of the best things about life is that 1) we can take action to change our circumstances and also our perspectives, and 2) everything is temporary. The good, the bad, the stressful. This too shall pass! And you'll be stronger for it. 💖

You are so real and that’s what I love about you! Thank you so much for sharing this. I’m in the process of transtioning my full-time job and it has been a hectic week full of phone calls, presentations and a lot of expectations from both my old office and the new office I’m going to. I like to think that these challenges are stepping stones that will take me higher and closer to my goal. I’m glad to see you smile after the big cry! Cheer up and don’t be stressed out 😘 Lots of love from Thailand ❤️

As a wife & mother I have sometimes envied the free-time that singles/childless seem to have. But I think it's more accurate to say that mostly everyone is busy nowadays, and that's not the biggest problem. I think the parallels I see between my situation as a work from home/stay at home Mother and yours or others' like you (bloggers/freelancers) is that it's so hard to "turn-off" and unwind because the work day never really ends. We try to balance everything in any "free-time" we do have and it's just so hard sometimes. The hours are intense. I log at 12-14 hour days on average just taking care of my child during her waking hours. Not to mention waking up multiple times in the night for the past 2 years. It's hard to squeeze in any social time and I honestly just don't have it unless it involves a playdate. I've been able to get some alone time, and some QT with my wonderful husband, but my hobbies outside of family time and my social life are just something that haven't been attainable in this stage of life. Thankfully life is seasonal and my baby is getting older now and I hope to soon regain my social life, hobbies and career once again! We all need help from others. Whether we are single and working or married and raising children. Thank you so much for sharing this vulnerable side of your life. I'm wishing you the best at work and in life. Happy Birthday

Ah that is tough, and so much respect for new mothers in the modern age to juggle all of it. At the end of the day, we have to be okay with compromises and if that's social settings, that's okay! Dear Sugar's podcast did a really great episode on balancing friendships and one was about motherhood. I don't know where to find it, but either way, Dear Sugars is a great and rich resource for not feeling alone in this chaotic world :) x

First: I know we don't see everything going on behind the camera, but you're doing amazing and we'll be here if you need to take time to rebalance your work 💕 Second: As a triple water sign (sun/moon: pisces, cancer rising) I know exactly what you mean about unraveling. I was raised to believe being emotional was weak (I could write a book on the gender issues alone when it comes to sensitivity/being emotional!) For the longest time the frustration would just build and build because I was completely denying myself. As I've gotten older I've learned that having a good quick cry before I kick some ass is exactly what I need to do, just as you did. It keeps us from unraveling because we're being transparent with ourselves and while it acknowledges our emotions, it doesn't let them take over. Tl;dr Crying is good exercise lol

M. Addams triple water sign here and I agree that being sensitive and emotional can be a strength. It depends on each ones beliefs but one thing that changed my life is to put the outcome in a power above me, in the Divine. I'll do my best but I'll ask for Divine guidance. Angels are always there to help.

♡♡ hey give yourself a break! You're doing very well, at least on this platform. Give yourself credit for the amount of work you're doing here as a one man show. It's incredibly ambitious and of course stressful. I'm so happy the amount of work you've put in here. Mostly because I really believe in your vision and content. I know you just putting out more here and getting your name out will lead to opportunities. I truly believe that. My mom and I both have this thing where we get anxiety a lot at work that we're secretly getting fired. She's 60 now and she regrets worrying so much when she was young. She is close to retiring as a professor and through her career she's worked as a single mother raising 3 kids. It's funny because she's my definition of girl boss but she's always been insecure and scared deep inside. Im not saying your fears are unfounded buuut A LOT of women feel incompetent at work and it leads to anxiety and stops them from advocating for themselves. You're my role model and I am advocating for you! I'm not just saying that to be nice but I really see so much in you and I hope you can pratice advocating for how awesome you are too :)♡
