Copperopolis thanks first responders who saved the town from Aero Fire

As containment grew on Calaveras County's Aero Fire Thursday, more people returned home and some of the more than 1,000 firefighters and police officers originally called to the scene from across the region left.

I was on a CDF handcrew in the 90’s. We used to see signs and people standing on the sides of roads as we pulled out of mopped up fires. The little thank you and all the appreciation surely did make our chests swell. The air attack and structure coverage I watched from the Aero fire was spot on great job

We just drove through that area a couple hours ago and then they did a great job out there I didn't realize how big that fire was
