Are you sure about that collaboration with Creality? Coprint has released a version of the KMC for the K1 already. Given your comment, I don't know whether to get it now from Coprint or wait for Creality to introduce the kit. I've been printing since the early days of reprap, so I enjoy new tech stuff to keep the old mind working. Thanks for the in-depth review of the system.

@@tomwitman7465 Absolutely. BUT what it is. Is that Basically Creality will be offer CoPrint KCM combo kits on Creality Site for multi color printing. The kits itself will be no different it will just be endorsed by Creality on their Creality site Officially. It was a live sneak peak leak at Formnext when Creality were live chatting to Furkan from CoPrint about the upcoming collaboration with Creality for their Ender 3 V3 line up and K1 Series. My assumption is because Creality does not have their own multi kit design completed yet for the Ender 3 V3 and considerimg CoPrint & Creality in the first place on multi color and the K2 this has become an option for Creality to fill the consumer void whilst working on their own system.

and the filament sensor? doesn't it have one? how does the machine know when it runs out of filament?
@CRIZS_CREATIONS22 күн бұрын
The Original V1 variant of Chromahead was to have a Filament Runout sensor, But Unfortunately due to redesign constraints they had to eliminate it from the chromahead so there is not a filament runout sensor. that said for the Price and performance there is a workaround using a 4 Filament runout sensors which approx. $12 each and using a 4 way pcm/mainboard splitter cable into 1 cable. At this stage I am still working with the team to address updating the kcm or ecm to allow it to be compatible with the either kcm or ecm, I do know that the Chromapad which I will testing and installing this week will be a lot easier to add a runout sensor to. I will keep you posted on this. I understand it is handy to hav especially for large models to pause swapping out filament rolls and also incase of accidental filament breaks which although is rare a concern.

I'm waiting for my KMC KIT to be shipped for my K1 Max, How long does it take to be shipped out to the US? I bought it on the 9th.. I've already printed out ALL the parts needed ETC. Looking forward on using my K1 Max with Multi-Color soon.

@@tazzy68 Honestly it depends on locations. I can't really say. This time of year Deliveries are very backed up running behind towards the holiday season. That said a lot of people have mentioned especially in the USA that USPS has been very very slow from China warehouse manufacturer plant so its very hard to say unfortunately. With this what is the max speed I can print?
@CRIZS_CREATIONS29 күн бұрын
@@mauriciodelvalle4648 So far I am testing this within safe Good Quality prints, printing limits. That said single colour printing so far is 500mms possible more as the Chroma Hotends has a higher flowrate than Creality's K1 Max unicorn hotends at a flowrate of 21-22mm3, Chromahead has a Max flowrate of 24mm3 so by theory it is possible with the right acceleration to be slot quicker in single colour printing. By design though all multi colour printing has to be done at a slower speed to allow for varied brand filament flow rates, & filament recommended temperatures, whilst also travel speeds and jerk speeds for colour change, purging and prime layering.

@CRIZS_CREATIONS thanks for taking time to answer.. how about any filament jams? Have u experiencia any
@CRIZS_CREATIONS29 күн бұрын
@mauriciodelvalle4648 No filament jams as yet. I mistakenly dragged the nozzle across the build plate but that was my own fault messing around with z speeds and not home z properly a rush. But as yet no issues. I'm calibrating all parameters today so Will start printing some prints over the next 3 days and then I should be ready to give my overall full review of the KCM system with Chromahead. I want to be sure I've given it enough time to evaluate properly and see the full potential of it before conducting an initial honest review. That said I will more than likely post an initial first impressions review then a follow up review again after a few weeks of use once I have accomplished many prints and upped the speeds and accelerations to their maximum to really get the full picture as a Full in-depth printing Review.

Do you have to root the K1 to install it? I've finally gotten a Klipper printer that works absolutely perfect without tinkering so I really don't want to touch the firmware. I never thought I would say that! :)
@CRIZS_CREATIONSАй бұрын
I will do the K1 KCM installation tomorrow & be posting most likely the full install and Printing test review on Tuesday as it does take sometime to test and record everything, As I know what you mean as I too have K1c & K1 max with full root access working well. I am pretty sure you do have to factory rest the K1 as the KCM uses it own firmware to control the Chromahead settings, extrusions rates, extruders and other things like proximity sensor calibrations and z offset bed mesh etc. But I will have to double check this when I do the Install tomorrow. I will be posting progress short updates along the way.

No one wants cheap components and even big names like Creality, Elegoo, Anycubic are well know for using sub par parts with hot glue mess everywhere lol
