He comentado este video mil veces y no me canso... Coprofago es sin duda una de las bandas de mayor calibre que ha engendrado este pais lleno de las mismas cagás repetitivas de siempre... de los pocos que lucharon por salir de los canones que estigmatizan al metal y triunfaron en el extranjero... Mucha banda para un pais de tan baja cultura como Chile.

Si te fijas hoy en día disponemos de muchas bandas que siguen el estilo las cuales deslumbran por su estructura progresiva, técnicas y sonidos "abstractos"... pero de todo el lote cuantas realmente tienen un sonido propio dentro del mismo? ves que veo bandas "Djently" (termino que detesto) escucho a una banda exactamente igual que su antecesora y así consecutivamente... ese sonido "agringado/británico" que TODOS tienen (menos Coprofago ♥).

I read once on an interview (in spanish) that they were really young when they decided to go with that that name, school kids. They thought that it was cool, at the time... even when it didn't had any relation with their music.

@WALOKEINELUSTful sebastian, guitarra de coprofago, vive en chile y pablo en alemania, no suecia, motivo principal del por que coprofago esta inactivo, lo dijo el mismo seba en una entrevista para mus.cl (no cacho de donde habra salido esa info en wikipedia)... en su myspace dice preparandose para la vuelta pero de eso ya van un buen par de meses, ahi veremos.

@insertaunnombreaqui yeah, I saw that interview... they didn't choose the name for that reason, they just thought it was kinda cool so they went for it, it doesn't really represent them nowadays but they're still able to relate to it since the food we eat everyday is shit, hence coprofago.

@ThrashingBastardHell parti escuchando Meshuggah y Coprofago. De ahí se abrió toda la gama de bandas Math/Djent/progresivo. Pero estos tipos están en un nivel superior, no suenan como una copia de sino que se apoderaron del estilo para crear algo único.

They're not bad, but I feel they got a load of their stuff from Meshuggah, who I think are pretty boring - I really like the jazz bits. I heard these years ago and some of their stuff is really good.

Second Part: With da time Focus became a mutha fucka classic ya know! and thanks to them we have the tag "Death/Jazz Metal" (that's the "statement" if you didn't noticed, told ya! this time it'll be for sloooow people :P) So when you listen to Coprofago you (usually... smartass) tag them as Death/Jazz Metal and if you dig the style you (almost, supposing that yer intelligence quotient is over 85) immediately think on Cynic, that's what we call "Influences".

well in my opinion.. dillinger escape plan is mathcore, but copro isnt. sleep terror include many jazz stuff as well, but they're not mathcore, no hardcore influences.

i think it is related to cynic becouse of the more death metalish parts of the cynic songs, with the long chords and the fingertapping. both bands are progressive but the more deathmetallish parts in cynic songs are not really what cynic makes cynic, it's the easy parts, in my opinion. zo i guess that's where the misunderstanding op the comparrison commes from. both great bands though

Lo que más me da lata es que, claro, ahora todo el mundo alaba el Metal ULTRA PLAGIO a Meshuggah (el Math-Djent) con bandas tipo Periphery, Tesseract, Four Question's Marks, Uneven, etc... siendo que Coprofago logró, claramente, un estilo realmente ÚNICO tomando simples influencias de Meshuggah y sus contemporaneos... para mí siguen siendo lo más grande ya que realmente se distinguen entre los demás.
