Back in the late 80's my college roommate and I were victims of a raid without a warrant. Cops showed up and busted in saying there had been a call that a cop was down inside our apartment. Of course they looked for him in the fridge, kitchen drawers, under the bed etc. After they ransacked our place they left with no explanation. We learned later that my roommates girlfriend's mother was mad that the two were dating and told cops we had drugs in the apartment. Of course we didn't but it was explained that when cops think someone is in distress they can enter without a warrant. Solution? Just make crap up and bust in.

Had they actually found any drugs it would have been thrown out eventually. Even a search warrant doesn't give them the right to search everywhere in a house. This is even more true when there are multiple people living in a house. I've seen a drug search warrant. It was hella specific. "This search warrant is to search for X drugs in the downstairs bedroom of XXX address, the safe, and the red candy machine" or something like that. They weren't allowed to search anywhere else in the house. They knew exactly where the drugs were in that case, but they might not always. So the search warrant will be for a particular bedroom, or the garage, or the attic or whatever. But searching a fridge for an injured officer is obviously illogical and would be thrown out easily. The only way it wouldn't is if it was laying the in open for them to see.

The end qualified immunity battle cry is cool and all and I'm all for it but qualified immunity only protects from civil litigation and then only in certain circumstances. "The doctrine of qualified immunity protects state and local officials, including law enforcement officers, from individual liability unless the official violated a clearly established constitutional right. " End quote. What you really need to do is elect prosecuting attorneys who are willing to prosecute criminal cops but since they're all part of the good old boy system good luck with that.

If the government tells a government employee to do something, and they do it and it’s wrong, the government giving the orders should be held liable, not the individual. What we should do is make it less broad. It should only protect cops and other employees that were acting from exact orders from higher up. Not their interpretation of orders or policies, exact. And if they were, the person above them should be examined. Were they given the same orders to pass down? Go high and if it gets too high then the government itself should pay. Here guys beating the hell out of people aren’t acting on orders. It would leave them wide open to sue. I get the concept that ‘following orders’ isn’t a good excuse to do wrong, and in certain circumstances that’s true. Clearly wrong behavior shouldn’t fall under this but the stuff in grey areas, where a reasonable person acting in good faith follows orders they thought were lawful should not be held liable. The people above them should. Otherwise you have higher ups that get scapegoats that don’t know better to do their dirty work and leave them to take the fall. So it’s mostly he fact qualified immunity is being weaponized and worded horribly.

Their purpose was to secretly catch you and let you disappear (something the so called STASI did in the GDR in later times) in camps. I called the Lafayette P.D. and end up leaving a message asking them about a video I seen and left a message asking the detective or someone to call me back and explain to me their policies on no knock policy. I'm a former City Councilmen for Clarkdale Arizona and overseen our P.D. and this is purely unacceptable by any law. They broke their own oath to the Constitution without caring for others. I'm disturbed by this video on so many levels. The police do not seem to be trained to do any investigative work or background checks at all anymore. They have the internet, social media, all sorts of software to assist them in doing their jobs, but they don't seem to take even a few minutes to research or stake out a situation before they run headlong into.so-called danger terrorizing and traumatizing everyone involved. With all the swatting going on these days, you'd think they'd at least ask the residents to identify themselves or say who they are looking for. The recent year-old incident took place in another home in another town by someone not living in this residence. So how did they get this address? They believe a female inside is in danger, but yet they take the only female in the residence and manhandle her, dragging her outside. If this were a legitimate situation, is that the proper way to treat a victim? They are traumatizing a whole country full of citizens, making them armed and radicalized by this absurd and dangerous behavior. I strongly believe in unions, but the police union is part of the problem and the fact that they protect each other no matter what the guilty officer has done while gaslight ing the victims. They lie on official documents and they lie in court and they are never held accountable. We can't continue to pay for them to abuse us and our property. This system must change!

This police department stopped and wrote me $1500 in fines in 5 days. Impounding my car due to no physical insurrance card on the last stop, I am convinced I was not given it back from the previous stop, as I clearly had it the previous 3 stops. 3 days after having all of the fines/charges dropped, my vehicle was stolen. I reported it and a report was made. I received a phone call with bad reception about my car, I called the police to ask if it was them or if I could help the investigation by giving them the number the person called from. They responded by saying investigations were to be performed by the police department and if I contacted them again they would file harrasment charges against me. I received the car back a year later, layered in move or tow tags, with an address that is on the same block as the police station.this is a pathetic excuse of a police department.

My little brothers first vehicle was a '54 Ford pick up...His plan was to restore it once he got out of high school. A cop in town ( small town in Indiana) keep bugging him to sell it to him. My brother finally told him to fuk off. within 2 days after that, he went to get in his truck to go to school and it was gone. He called to report it stolen and they told him the tires had been cut so it was taken to impound. He never got the truck back .
