THIS! Any competent officer at any of those 5 interactions would have verified the lack of a link between these people and the suspect and it would have ended there. It should also have been included in the warrant for the judge to make the decision. THE REST OF THE STORY: The 28 police in full riot gear were at this house looking for a 14 YO who use to live there. He is believed to be dealing firearms. The police had been to this house at least 4 other times in the last 11 months looking for the same boy who had moved to a different home in the same area January 2023. The police say the flashbangs have nothing that will harm a human..... They also say the baby was checked by EMS and they found nothing wrong. The hospital EMS say otherwise and the baby is in ICU.... 28 officers in riot gear break down the door, break out windows, throw in flashbangs - all for a 14 YO boy who does not live there.......Detain the mother in handcuffs. Search her pockets. Some of the officers knew they were at the wrong house. WAKE UP Americans !!!!!!

The mom, during an interview, said that this goes far beyond an apology. Her baby was sitting in an exersaucer type of baby thing, right under the window where the flash-bang went off and shattered the glass all over him. He spent days in the NICU, or more likely PICU. His hearing may be damaged for life. And who knows how those tiny shards of glass cut him. Add to that that trauma from that very loud sound that may stick with him for life. I have a couple of very strong core memories from my childhood at that age, things that were not discussed as we were growing up, nor were there pictures to give my memories any extra oopmh. So yes, the lawsuit that will be (or has already been) filed will caused them to wants to settle. The question is, will she want to settle, though, or make case law about such actions by the cops.

Even worse than that, they continued to question the poor resident in handcuffs who clearly told them multiple times she had a 17 month old baby on a ventilator in there......Did they have anyone on scene to attend to the child during the search? Why didn't they take her out of the handcuffs and escort her to the child so she could attend to it? They just kept her in handcuffs and continued the questioning because they didn't care about the child's health and safety they only cared about figuring out a way to cover up their HUGE mistake.

Some departments have switched to camera's that they can't turn off or mute even though they have buttons to do so and a power LED that indicates it is off(when it really isnt') - they also record the fact the user tried to turn them off. But I am sure these PD's are a drop in the bucket compared to most.

They announced themselves as police, right after the initial banging, within 9-10 seconds from them announcing themselves as police, to a flash bang going off. That alone is so disturbing.
