It makes me afraid to be living in Michigan, a beautiful State unfortunately policed by out of control Troopers, Sheriff’s Deputies and Police Officers. The Governor should and could call all police chiefs and request that they watch this video and ensure this type of interaction never happens again. As for the Trooper who assaulted this man I do hope he gets a custodial sentence, is dismissed and is not able to get a job in law enforcement ever again.

Similar scenario here. Wanted to be law enforcement growing up. Joined the Army reserves on my 17th bday with my parents signatures. There were multiple guys at my reserve center that were cops. The Colonel was the district attorney. I saw and heard so much. It felt almost like they were grooming me (and I hate using that term). I never did go into law enforcement.

Definitely the one that was there the entire time to see exactly what did, and more importantly didn't, happen. The others, from what I can see, came in after any punches were thrown and certainly had no clue what was going on up to that point. Again, the pos that was there from the beginning and was asking if he wanted him to take him.....100% accomplice.

@notoriousbid3169

There should be NO Qualified Immunity, here, because cops need to float the "illusion" that they thought that they were doing their job(s)... If they got a call for a suspicious man, they coulda stopped and roughed up any man... This dude is like 6 inches shorter than they are!! You CAN'T believe that all that was necessary and appropriate... They have citizen stood up against a vehicle and Cop is holding him. Other cop responds "you're still resisting." I think that means that citizen is unable to reasonably read the officer's mind and comply with unstated lawful orders...

@@newshodgepodge6329 Agreed. I think they too should be required to view all arrest videos within 10 days. They can reduce their caseload enormously if they simply get a daily list of any/all arrests from the prior day where the charges were limited to: 1) resisting, obstruction, disorderly (or any combo of those) 2) any charges that also include any of those 3 Those are usually bogus charges brought by pissed off cops to "teach someone a lesson". A Quick watch of the bwcs usually makes the truth obvious. Once those charges are dropped, those officers need to be disciplined for filing false charges. Then the prosecutors can focus on the real crimes & have a lighter caseload in which to focus on them. If they did this consistently their caseload would lighten up tremendously to only include REAL crimes. That's what the public expects.

Press charges against the officers involved. Read everything your attorney files before you sign or before anything is submitted. It's gonna take time but it'll be worth it. This is disgusting. Qualified immunity needs to stop and these rogue police officers/deputies need to be held accountable for wrongdoings. The sad and horrifying fact is, this happens to law abiding citizens every day in this country. They're are still departments out there who do not have body cameras. This is why it is so important to record every encounter with police and try to have a couple of devices such as a phone and dash cam. Not only does it cost money to get their footage, but often times they will deny access to their recordings. Especially if there's a complaint or an investigation concerning the encounter. It's a sad fact that We The People have to have our own six because the only persons a police officer/deputy is going to help, cover for, and/or protect is themselves and each other. Record everything during a stop. You can usually tell how things are going to go within the first 10-20 seconds of the encounter. Be safe. Know your rights. Watch your back. Record. Record. Record.
