This is one of those error codes that I don't like, because to diagnose it you need a second copier for parts. Code: 144 Description: SBU communication error Connection to the SBU could not be confirmed, possibly due to a defect in the BCU detection port. Causes: • Harness connection at IPU, BCU, SBU loose, broken, defective • Spurious electrical noise on power supply line • IPU defective • BCU defective • SBU defective Remedy: 1. Replace the harness. 2. Replace the IPU. 3. Replace the SBU. . Replace the BCU.
