Thanks for the excellent tutorial. You cleared up one point for me. Could not work out how you could scan with the scanner on the stand upright. You are the only reviewer to say the stand is just for storage.

I have similar problems, and finally got it, the manual mention something about ScanGear, so you need to click the "ScanGear" button instead of "auto" or "Photo" to customize the resolution. Hope this helps.
