I think it's the fact that even Cora is not power-hungry enough to attempt them; she's content to keep by the rules as "love is weakness, she doesn't want to change the past and she has no-one dead to bring back." Regina isn't dead, nor is Cora's husband at this time; Cora doesn't want to change the past (she's lose her power if she did) and she doesn't love because of her heart.

Rumple’s teaching methods are draconian, the fact that he can see the future is already a given. He can see ur potential and if he sees you have no talent or success in your future he will simply let you drown and die when you realise you don’t have the talent to swim and can’t save yourself at all during a lesson. I also think Cora saw an opportunity to gain even more power in Wonderland. She mentioned that she never agreed with the Red King and thus by having Anastasia as her minion, (and a powerless opponent), she could get rid of the Red King and be the power behind the throne... she even said that the Red King wouldn't be around much longer. Of course, once Jafar appeared on the scene that blew it all to pieces and by that time, Cora had returned to the enchanted forest. Which probably was a good thing as I don't think that even Cora could stand against Jafar.

The reason there are laws of magic and these restrictions is cause things can go wrong if you attempt to break them. Nothing says you can't try but doing so makes things go south. Brining back Daniel made him turn out to be a monster, "changing the past" changed the circumstances of future events even if most of the events remained the same and making someone love you can lead to one of two places, either the target becomes dangerously in love with you to the point of obsession or the love in reality is forced and fraudulent.

Oh yes: Regina offered to teach Henry once, the trouble is only certain kinds of people like Regina and Cora are drawn to learning magic because they disregard the price it demands, in that sense it's kind of a metaphor for a drug addiction I think, it's something that seems to be a solution however has a propensity for self destruction which is why most try to steer clear of it but which those who use it can't seem to escape. Emma of course is an exception because a) as the product of true love she is innately magical and b) she doesn't rely on it for self serving purposes the way other magic users do, only calling upon it to help others and when she has no other option, therefore her magic is of a different kind to the witchcraft employed by Cora etc.

hello i love this scene actually i was just reading in a motivational book it talked about how to control yourself and awaken the power inside of you one of it 's most important lesson is to control pain and pleasure like right the pain you feel if you didn't do this and the pleasure you get when you do i DIRECTLY remembered this scene and how Cora told Anastasia to think of all who told you you are flawed imperfect (pain) and you need to channel that and prove them wrong (pleasure ) and apparently Anastasia was able to awaken the power within and this is not the first time i read a lot of motivational books that talks about inner power and a lot of the quotes in these books were somewhat use in OUAT one last think i do not know if you make videos but if you do may you please make one showing the red queen's power because it wasn't that mush focused upon in the series if you can use like Regina's power and Zelena's power and use your adding skills to make it seem like the red queen is using them and if you can use some really powerful song that would be great

Graham didn't truly love her, if he had Emma wouldn't have broken him out of the curse, also, he wouldn't have been under a curse in the first place, also, Regina bringing Charming back was tying two lives to one life, a half life for each of them, if either of them died, or at least if Snow died, they both die. Also, while you can kind of argue that they broke the time travel thing, they only managed to change a few steps along the path that still took everyone right to where they were initially.

I wish Cora had gotten a more satisfying death. I suppose stabbing her in the neck again and again with a straight razor, and graphically slitting her jugular with blood spraying everywhere - which is what I wanted to happen - would have been too violent for network television. Realistically, I wish it had gone something like, Cora reveals that she only pretended to reconcile with Regina because she was only manipulating her - which was fucking true, for fuck's sake - that she never loved Regina and thought her a failure, and was only using her to get to Henry, with whom she planned to use in some diabolical, self-serving scheme. Then Regina, in a rage at this final betrayal, lashes out and kills her mother, finally breaking Cora's grip on her. That would have been perfectly in character for Regina, because she wouldn't just kill her mother out of anger, but to protect Henry. And it wouldn't have changed the storyline too drastically either (the writers would have figured out some other way to save Rumpelstiltskin. They did it a season later after he had been outright killed). It certainly would have made for better storytelling than the lame-ass twist with Snow White's heart darkening; a subplot that never went anywhere, and ended just as soon as it started. Plus, the writers probably wouldn't have tried to make Cora a *fucking sympathetic character*.

I think Cora is broken, like every other character on the show. People who have been deprived of love, deprive others of love. And people who have been forgiven little, love little. The heart of Once Upon a Time is showing that broken souls, misunderstood souls all have backstories. Snow White didn't give up on her faith in a redeemed Regina. Rumplestiltskin teased it, saying "What a noble thought!" But it happened. A 180 transformation. It happened for Cora too, except on the deathbed.

Unless we are totally innocent (which no human being is), we can't judge others. If a person has become a totally different individual, why treat them like their old selves? In _Les Miserables,_ Jean Valjean becomes a new person (an adoptive father, philandthropist, etc) after a long life of thievery and deception, which is why Javert's condemnation against Valjean (for Valjean's past crimes) is so evil. Cora changed, but the depth of that change isn't as vivid as Regina's is, because Cora was killed before she could live out her new life. Still a new person, nonetheless.

Cora cared about nothing and no one but herself her entire life. All she ever wanted out of life was to have power over others. And this was years before she learned magic and took out her own heart. She was a parasite who manipulated every person she came into contact with, who derived pleasure from tormenting others, particularly her own daughter, Regina, who is permanently damaged. And I don't believe for one minute that Cora was sincere when she said she wanted to reconcile with Regina. Every syllable that passed her lips stank of deceit, and her eyes betrayed her. Cora was a monster who had no human feelings. Not having her heart in her chest is no excuse. Will Scarlett didn't have his heart in his chest in Once Upon A Time In Wonderland, and he still managed to be a decent human being who did the right thing. The reason why Regina earned my sympathy was because there was always some good in her, which took the form of her adopted son, and her love for Henry eventually overcame her desire for revenge. Plus she exhibited a small, but noticeable about of remorse for her heinous actions. And that's the difference between Regina and Cora. Cora had *no* remorse *whatsoever* for the sadistic cruelty she took such sick, perverse pleasure in inflicting on her victims. That is why she does not deserve one fucking shred of sympathy. She was without humanity and had *always* been that way. And the only thing regrettable about her death was the fact that Regina didn't kill her.

***** You're right about Cora being powerhungry and parasitical. But with her backstory, it's very understandable. The difference between Cora and Will is that Cora was cruelly wronged by Eva. This set off a plan for revenge, while Will didn't have anyone who hated him so directly. Even though they both didn't have their hearts, Cora *had more hurts.* King Xavier also creates an additional dent in her, by embedding that "love is weakness." To protect and love herself, Cora then painfully turned her face from love. Without a proper mentor for economics, she understandably *trusted in the king's advice,* since a king would be wise in terms of money, influence, and survival. Being discriminated and humiliated because of the class you were born into is a pain Regina has never felt. She was wealthy all her life, so Regina would have enough room in her heart to spare for love. Deprived of anyone who looked after her, Cora had to secure room for love for herself. This happens a lot with people who grew up in poverty. They have *less room in their heart to give out,* since they were given less comfort in their life. With no one to fend for her (even her father was no help), she was in the survival mode--always garnering more and more until she had enough power for safety. And since habits are hard to break, this habit gradually snowballed into pure powermongering. And remember how Cora immediately forgave Regina at the crypt. She *immediately* changed her plan to rip Regina's heart out merely because Regina told her she loved Cora (even though she knew Regina wanted her dead). So I think Cora is an all-or-nothing type of person. (Just like how Snow observed that Regina, Cora's daughter, *feels things deeply*) Cora may have had bloodlust to consume her, but I think judging from the way she cried at Regina, she also had the potential to be consumed in the other direction, if her life wasn't cut off. Cora has some honesty, and her statement that Regina would've been enough indicates that there is at least a small regret about abandoning Regina for power.
