Coral Sitar: Nickel Roundwounds vs. Steel Halfrounds

Do I suffer from GAS, the Guitar Acquisition Syndrome? Probably yes, there are so many interesting, fascinating and tempting instruments... The Danelectro Electric Sitar, a Korea made reissue of the legendary Coral Sitar based on the original design by Vinnie Bell of the late 60's has been such an object of desire to me. With its three lipstic single coil PUs, the Gotoh sitar bridge and the 13 sympathetic strings it provides a rather unique sound. Thanks to its hollow body it is even possible to play it unplugged, at the very end of the video you may find a short acoustic sample. The guitar is not apt for heavy distortion because the typical snaring sound will vanish. I also wanted to test if there is a clear difference between nickel roundwound and steel halfround strings.
