Congrats Deven! Its a very cool thing to witness. Looking at the size, colour and shape of those eggs its definitely one of your Acros that has spawned. The embryos take 4 days to develop before they're ready to settlement and so sadly you wont get any settlement. Next time if you keep some in a petri dish for a few hours to see cell division. If you see that then you've had more than 1 genotype of the same species spawn. I'm recording with Adam tomorrow night to try and explain how people can attempt to rear corals in a home set up.

Thank you Jamie! It turned out to be my Miyagi Tort that spawned, at the very end of the video i put some clips of the polyps releasing the larvae. Next time it happens I may try and collect and attempt to rear them. Ill be sure to list to the podcast for your pro tips :)

This is awesome, did you happen to notice anything popping up around the tank as a result? Also is there any way I could email or pm you? I would love to pick your brain about DIY battery backups. It’s on my to-do list to set something up for my mighty jet return pump but it seems there are not really any decent off the shelf options. I get most all the wiring and concepts my biggest question is from the design side whether it is better to use a relay to change over or like I’ve seen in a few of your videos just running the whole setup off a battery and charger? Curious to know how those setups have worked out for you in the long run. Keep up the awesome content!!

No babies, I realized I would need to have a second genetic specimen and I’m assuming mine are all the same. What pumps do you you want backup power. I have done a few differ experiments and variations. Now.

Congratulations. I love that we can now achieve this in a home setting. Now if only we could get better at intentionally doing it :) While reefing is in the baby steps of home spawning, it offers such a potential.

Awesome to see in our reef tanks, I hope I get to experience it someday. I was listening to an episode of reef beef and Rich had mentioned to turn off all flow to watch them slowly raise to the surface.

Too late for that, but i did turn off the return pumps to give some a chance to settle in tank

there is nothing inside like a chicken egg. these will morph into larve settle and grown into corals (if the conditions are right). kind of like frog eggs rather than something growing inside that hatches

That's sooo cool.. I have a question about automatic testing. I'm in the market for a automatic tester and was wondering what would be your suggestion. I'm looking at the Reefbot , mastertronic and trident even tho i would rather do more than the 3 test that the trident does. what would you recommend . thanks for any help .. love the channel.
