**UPDATE PLEASE READ** The original plan was to keep all three of these guys in this tank for no more than a year, before upgrading. But after talking to Cory from Aquaroum Co-OP he suggested that I either upgrade right away or keep just one of them since they can be territorial even with each other! I've been keeping a close eye on them to see how they get along before I make the decision. I've also already started feeding them clams and other goodies to make sure their beaks stay nice and trimmed!!! I've been keeping saltwater aquariums for over 10 years so a lot of this is new to me. But I'm excited to learn and thankful I have the resources with this channel to make sure these guys do well. If I do only end up keeping one which one should it be??? Kirby, Firby or Fergy?!
@Ankudamurderer5 жыл бұрын
@Easliy Displeased Cory definitely knows what he's talking about. I agree that people get pretty overzealous about tank size, but when it comes to territorial fish you really do need too much space. For example, in a betta tank, if you have two males, each males will carve out a 5 gallon swathe of the tank for themselves, if you have anything less than 10 gallons then they will merge territories and fight to death. With Puffers, these fights end a little more quickly and it's usually because they suck up more food than an jet engine when hungry (all the time) It's near impossible to feed all of them at once, and stop them from looking at another one's plate. Definitely a good idea on this one. I think you should keep Kirby. The name applies!

What you need to do if you are gonna go brackish, is obtain an Australian bullrout. They are almost unheard of outside of here in Australia and are a great venomous predator species to keep. I personally keep them, hell I'll send you one if I have to.
@Contingent3285 жыл бұрын
I have three gsp on a 15g for more than two years now. None of them are territorial. Just like yours they arrived at the same time. I feed them every other day and thirty percent water change once a week. I guess not all fish are created the same.

I love your channel, but I see a few things wrong with this video. 1- no research: you got rid of fish and right away went to get new ones. You didn’t do any research. If you had done research you would have seen that they need at least a 30 gallon and are not as aggressive as everyone in this vid says they are 2- trusting a pet store employee: yes Brady seemed knowledgeable, but sometimes pet store employees will make up stories to seem more relatable to the consumer. 3- DO NOT TRIM THEIR BEAKS WITH NAIL CLIPPERS: feed them crustaceans and snails. Shrimp, bladder snails, crab, pest snails, etc. This is how they trim their beaks in the wild and doesn’t stress them out at all. MORAL OF THE STORY: do your own research before getting your pets and don’t rush into getting a pet.

Hi, I love your Chanel! When I made the step from fresh water to marine your channel was one of the first I found, so helpful! My change was actually because of the green spotted puffer! Amazing fish! I actually had to give up all 6 of my aquariums when I moved to Lapland, and last week finally managed to get hold of a baby gps (puffer not polyp 🤣) just please be aware I had 2 in full marine, both in there own 55 gallon with other fish. They were about 1.5cm when I got them and 11 months later one was 6 inch and my favourite was a massive 6.5 inch! In under a year! It’s all about water quality and the salt! Don’t up the salt to quick and don’t do it to slow, or there growth gets stunted. Please enjoy your new pets! To me they are the best and most rewarding fish! I wouldn’t go with dry food maybe start a snail tank, and maybe frozen bloodworms ... when they get bigger then frozen muscles and clams but for now the little pest snails all pet shops try to get rid of are perfect (bladder snails, tiny rams horn that kind of thing) and they will usually give them to you free! Just not the Malaysian trumpet snails there shells are to hard! So happy for you! I think you will enjoy them so much! As a last note get a cover! These guys are amazing jumpers!! 🐡

I knew it was going to be a puffer! I’m starting my puffer tanks at work. Just got my Pygmy/Dwarf Puffer tank started with 6 little Puffers in there - they’re already eating frozen bloodworm, and fighting over it like cute little dogs. Getting South American Puffers tomorrow for another tank. Originally was going to go Green Spotted or Figure 8, but it’s much easier to do tropical at work. It’s best to keep a 1:3 sort of ratio male:female to reduce aggression.
