I stumbled upon the weirdest Coraline content farm that is run almost completely by AI. Of course, KZbin is known for having a lot of weird things on it, especially Content Farms churn that out videos that would make your nightmares shriek in terror. Add in the hot mess that is AI, and you have a recipe for disaster! But not all content farms are aimed at creating unsuitable content for children - some are designed to completely mislead YOU with AI. And this is where our adventure begins, as I stumbled upon a very strange channel that is pumping out AI generated Coraline 2 trailers daily. And they've done this nearly 200 times! This video gets very nerdy and very specific into one very strange Coraline 2 AI take.

I remember when people put out fake trailers for popular movies, and it was just a troll move. Like you clicked on a trailer for an upcoming movie, well here is a rick roll. Now you have to see a completely fake movie trailers, that is meant to deceive people into thinking it's real. I remember one youtuber got tricked into doing a reaction off of one, but it was pointed out that it was fake. Yet they use footage, A.I generated voice of one of the actors, and I even seen green screen manipulation of footage.

If youtube is worried about becoming bloated by how many videos are uploaded to their servers per day, they could put a '10 videos a day' limit on channels. That'd atleast slow down farms. Or have their algorithms punish channels that post suspiciously fast but flagging them/hiding them in results.

they do have a daily upload limit (i've hit it), but i imagine that goes away if the channel is big enough (has enough subscribers)

If your channel is not ‘in good standing’ you can only upload 10 a day. My friend used to be able to upload (and schedule for future release) heaps per day, but because of new changes he can only upload 10 a day **or** give KZbin a 30s video of his face and some government ID to unlock higher upload limits.

I think what really drives me up the wall about these fake trailers is that there’s really no point to them. I’ve seen other videos that utilized generative AI in far more creative ways, like reimagining “Star Wars” or “Ghostbusters” as a 1950s sci-fi. At least those offer a fun alternative way of reinterpreting the films through an hypothetical lens and don’t try and trick you into thinking they’re real - not that it requires much brainpower to realize that.

As soon as ai generated imaging (and we all know how shady its creation was in the first place by theft) was made accessible to the public, you would expect the obvious misuse of it. Like all things? I wouldn't be suprised when ai improves more, that content farms, cheap sketchy studios, and more would (and are) using it to create movies and such. Then the bigger companies will use them. I think the Coraline with a line across her face was originally from one of the extra features about the movie, where they show the unedited figures of the characters, with their interchangeable faces with a seam at the eyes so they can swap expressions for animation. They probably then used the same image with ai to alter it for other videos, and it just messed with that seam and made weird eyelashes or something.

3:38 The odd line between her eyes looks like it's an artifact left over from behind the scenes photos. AI models are trained on a number of pictures scraped off the internet. The puppets used in stopmotion films sometimes have a seam between their eyes, so animators can easily switch out expressions in the eyes and mouth. It's typically edited out in post. The movie Wendell and Wild uses it as a stylistic touch! Seems like it bled into the AI generated images.

They did this with the Beetlejuice 2 trailer. They went a step further too which was extra creepy. I think this article on Yahoo! said the trailer was going to be released on a certain, specified date. This was incorrect and the trailer would not be released until much later. So of course the people didn't know this flocked to KZbin to find this 'official trailer' and there it was all 'Official'. So what I am getting at is they had a freaking mole or moles all up in a media outlet to create a buzz for their AI generated bait and switch.
