Actually the reason the other father gave Coraline the soul willingly was because he’s a good guy.If you listen closely to him during that scene he is saying “I don’t want to fight you” and “the other mother made me do it” and then he gives her the soul.

she turned the dad from a pumpkin to the dad with the sand that she stuffs inside of the dolls and jumping mice, he didn’t even want to hurt coraline which is why he proceeded to yell “I’m sorry, mother’s making me” when he gave coraline the eye of the first child. Also, the other mother from what I know is a soulless creature, which is why she literally doesn’t even have eyes, our eyes are basically portals to our soul, and when she “takes the eyes” from the children she’s taking their souls

Theory of my own: Cats for a long time have been Associated with magic and luck and even witches. So the cat would obviously be connected to magic 🪄 and maybe even fairy’s... we know that he survived the bell dam when coraline threw him it her, so maybe since he want a fairy but possessed magic, the bell dam can’t hurt him or have control over him because he was a “witches assistant” and fairy’s and witches ar e two powerful types of magic. Now this may not make sense because if fairy’s can attack humans why not witches? Well it’s because witches know how to control fairy’s. And they can find ways to trick the tricksters. So she can’t hurt the cat because he is associated with a witch and that witch can easily control the bell dam if it wanted to. But it doesn’t, because the witch and the bell dam made a deal, we know most witches eat children (at least in folk tales) so also g as the bell dam respects the cat and witch enough, the witch will have mercy. But if the witch gets hungry and the bell dam is taking the children you may wonder: “why does the witch let the bell dam have the children? If the witch needs to eat?” Well the souls of the children and just souls! And the bodies are detached. So maybe the bell dam gives the witch the bodies of the children to eat. I have a theory too! Idk if you went over this already, but I think the other mother created the other father out of a pumpkin! Now I don't have much proof but like you said fairys have magical abilities one of them should be to create. But of course, you need a base to start off. So she used a pumpkin to create and use as a base. (Lots of the word "base" 😀🤔) So that's when she created coralines father "the other father" And gave him life.

I actually think that all the other fairies are good but have to obey to the beldam so when Coraline had the protection stone, she didn't protect herself from the other fairies but from the Beldam. Meaning that when the other father gave Coraline the eye he was protected of the Beldam's power over him. So I think that the stone of protection protects EVERYONE of the beldam including the other father. That is why he gave Coraline the eye(because he wanted to help Coraline but the Beldam wouldn't let him. But now he could) Idk if that made sence but that is what I personally think. Another great Coraline theory! The best so far. I like this theory very very much but, I still think that the entire Pink Palace out to it's property line is controlled and manipulated by the Beldam (both Pink Palaces are one in the same, the Pink Palace of the Beldam's realm could be the Pink Palace from the past when the Beldam was the resident). Also, I think that what appears to be Coraline's real mother at the end of the movie is not Coraline's real mother but the Beldam imitating Coraline's real mother without button eyes (since we see her transform to look like Coraline's mom with real eyes). Heck, I think Coraline is actually still in the Beldam's realm at the end of the movie, made up to look like the real world. So, I don't believe Coraline ever escaped the Beldam's realm.

Theory: idk if anyone else has thought of this before but here it goes. Coraline is a peculiar child. As in from the world of Miss Peregrines home for peculiar children. The 'other world' is a time loop. The other mother is a hollow (in human form) that draws in unsuspecting peculiar children into an abandoned time loop to take their eyes. She has buttons over her eyes to cover that they are now white. If you look closely at the house from the movie Miss Peregrines home for peculiar children it has a resemblance to the pink palace in the Coraline movie. However this is unlikely to be the case as this house in not in America. In this house, there is a sewing/doll room where one of the children builds dolls and controls them/brings them to life, which could be the sewing room/materials used by the other mother at the beginning of the movie. Further, these movies are both Tim Burton films. I know there are plot holes in this but it's still cool to think about.

My personal theory is that she was someone or perhaps something with the ability to advance throughout multiple dimensions which, at this point in time, is irrelevant to my assumption. Continuing on, she had a prolonged course of life which would elucidate on how she has accomplished a substantial amount as we know it. Commencing the main part of my notion, she gave birth to a child who -later on, departed with life someway. This would elaborate on the factor that 'othermother' defines to a woman, including mothers, caring for children who are not biologically her own. The Beldam was devastated by the death of her own child, and decided to, instead of resorting to another dimension, created her own. In the dimension she created, she would decoy children into her own world and toy with them as a replacement, then ultimately hemming their souls into her world as an immolation to her own -dead- child. This theory overall, leaves many details unexplained but simultaneously would describe some of the film's events as a backstory!

It makes sense for the beldam to be a fairy. From what I heard Fairies are based on nature. Spiders are considered part of nature, so either way, it makes sense for her to be a fairy. It also makes sense since she isn't necessarily beautiful to society's standards. Fairies don't look like how multiple movies/shows portray them.

i feel like the other world and the temptation of living in it forever is similar to pleasure island in pinnochio or the hut in hansel and gretel. It's like a warning to children that the life of pleasure and fun is often ends up very dark and will take your soul.

One of my theories which is also sort of a question, somewhere toward the end of the movie, Wybie mentions his grandma, and her sister and how she went missing, when he says how she could be the beldam, that made me question something, especially when I saw this video. When you said how the beldam could be OLDER than the house, I agree because she’s been taking Childers souls since the 1800s, which I am referring to since the young boy acts as if that was when he was captured. So basically she would be more than three hundred years old. But how? If she is Wybies great aunt aka his grandmas sister, how is his grandma not the same age as her, or even the house? if they were the same age, over three hundred years old, then how is the grandma still alive? That also made me think about Wybies mother, why does Wybie not live with her, and how old even is she?! Considering that his grandma could be over 300, his mom would most likely be over 200, which would also mean Wybie would only be like 20-40 younger than his mother, which could mean..he’s not the age we think he is. For all we know, he could be one of the Beldams minions, which if we come back how there would be trouble for Coraline AND Wybie, we would notice how the other Wybie betrayed beldam, and if Wybie is a minion, he would most likely do the same thing, then the beldam will punish Wybie, as she most likely does for Coraline. That’s my theory!

I always thought that the reason the OM wanted the children’s eyes is because once she removed them their souls were exposed to her because (I was always told) your soul rests behind your eyes, so without them there is nothing to protect it from being taken by her. And by sewing buttons in place of the eyes, she now has taken full control over the children by imprinting herself on the thing that protects the one thing that is truly ours, our eyes protecting our souls. And since fairies don’t have souls, when the other mother shape shifts into human form she doesnt have eyes because she has no soul that needs protection, so she sews buttons on the empty sockets, this helps to entice the children into letting her sew buttons on theirs. Just a thought

i know this video is like 7 months old but i found about it just now. so the thing i want to say is that, the room that the doll is made is mr bobinski’s room, (i saw it when i first watched it and the windows are the same) and this might be referring to the fact that mr. bobinski isn’t free, since the birds that represent freedom, are dying or possibly trapped in another dimension. and another thing, this was mentioned in the second part and the thing is the doll that is turned into a coraline one isn’t wybie, its wybie’s grandma’s twin. and i think that the connection you made is amazing because i never saw something about why wybie’s grandma let coraline’s family in, but the doll wasn’t wybie so i dont know how that would work out.

One thing you missed were in the scene where the beldam gave coraline the cake that said welcome home. it had a double curve on the o and usually it means that person is lying when they do that.

I personally believe that the other father isn’t good or going against the beldam. I think it’s all apart of her plan. The beldam is making coraline believe she’s winning the game. So when coraline finally gets back to the real world and the beldams hand makes it through they have that last fight scene when coraline throws the hand and the key to the door down the well (commonly thought to be another portal) so she’s playing right into the beldams game. She’s making coraline believe she won and that she’s safe so she can strike when coraline won’t expect it.

well, The producer said that the sorty is finished. if the hole were really a portal to this dimension, then the witch would have the key. She has tried to get the key. I also have a theory about the cat tho. Apparently spirits/souls/the dead/ghosts are scared of cats because they are apparently like something to do with death or the underworld so maybe the other mother doesnt like cats because she fears she will be taken down to her demise by the cat. Also apparently black cats are witches cats and the cat is black so maybe he is able to travel because he knows some magic from witches he has seen..? I dunno but thats my theory!

K so idk if some one noticed but you should also mention that the beldam also sewing needles for hand/fingers so that connects to why she sews on buttons for eyes.So my point is why she replaces eyes with buttons is because she likes to sew, And your right the beldam is not dead she wants revenge badly and the door is just a portal so yeah if they make a coraline 2(which we all want) the other mother coming back probably in a different form so she can try to be friends with coraline and then get her revenge.hehe i also want to say I love your vids there pretty cool.
