Still going strong over a half year later? Any big disappointments?
@captaincouldverc2 ай бұрын
My biggest disappointment with the Kagamar is the fact it didn't come with the HD wheeliebar/ wingmount. It really should've came with it. Needs slight modification to fit, just a trim one tab and drilling a few holes. But it fixed the wing stanchion failure problem and adds more structure to the rear bulkhead, tieing everything together for extra strength. The GLRC 3d printed wingmount I'm still testing the v2. So I'm not giving out my final opinion on that one yet. Shock standoffs are a bit disappointing, but they're not horrible. To a bunch of crashes to break one, but they are a weak point. And it needs 4 longer screws going up from the chassis into the bulkheads to help keep the diff access door secured so diffs don't get stripped. If you contact me on Facebook, I'll send you diagram showing you what screws in talking about. Servo saver came too tight from the factory causing premature servo failure. After adjusting saver to looking, the servo saver nut seemed to back off, some blue locktite cured that. Other than that, it's damn near perfect.

Need a 1/5 version

Now that they've got their 6s line dialed in, it would be amazing if they started doing 8s cars of the 5th scale variety!

Looks pretty solid. I wouldn't put it above many others though. Nothing really sets it apart imo.
@captaincouldverc9 ай бұрын
Well it's set itself above my 6s Kraton exb already. My kraton in the first 2 battery packs, blew a diff, broke an arm and steering block. Got 5 packs through the Kagama, only broke the wing stanchions and and a servo due to the servo saver being a little too tight. That's a clear winner in my personal experience. Plus not to mention the Torox esc is far superior to that spektrum esc.
@forsakenlife48739 ай бұрын
@@captaincouldverc Did all that in 2 packs huh? 👍

@@captaincouldverc yeah i wanted to get an arrma outcast or kraton but i keep hearing people saying that even with m2c braces, m2c hinge pins and everything, they're still breaking them by the bunch. Some 3 in a month. The reviews i've seen of the Kagama (notably Aldo Loyal, ThunderRC who both send these cars to the sky) are all positive with no game breaking breakage/weakspots as far as i've seen. Just that the tires are balloony and the center diffs seems to be leaky (from factory?)
@captaincouldverc9 ай бұрын
@@insanebmxthomas The center diff leak is an easy fix. A little sandpaper and 10 minutes of effort will sort the leak out. Just have to sand the mating surface a little. I'll be making a short video on that soon. As for my experience with the Kraton, it was horrible. Worst case i ever owned. Many blame my horrible driving, yet out of all my cars, it was THE ONLY ONE experiencing these problems. Kinda hard to convince me that my diving is only responsible for one car breaking, but my bad driving doesn't break any of my other cars, but the claim the Arrma is superior? It makes no logical sense to me. What sets the kagama apart for me, is their attention to detail. Instead of threading screws into plastic parts, they insert nylock nuts to prevent stripping of plastic parts. Or the way they tie every together, giving everything multiple points of contact for additional rigidity and strength. Yes this makes working on their cars a little more challenging, but it makes the car overall, so much stronger. Then last but not least, while those big name channels are really good, one thing to consider is unlike them, I purchase my own cars. I'm not a paid review channel nor am I sent cars to review. Recently I've been sent out a few parts to review, but that's as far is it goes. Luckily the parts were good so I didn't have the need to down talk them 😆 😅 One of the parts actually surpassed my expectations cause they were considered "Amazon parts" RCAWD was really cool about though. I told them flat out, if I don't like them, my video will reflect it. All they said is that they wanted my honest opinion, and if the parts needed improvement they want to hear the details so they can make the improvements. Once they told me that, I was willing to work with them.

@@captaincouldverc 100% agree, man, the Kagama seems designed way tough. The captive nuts design is a thing of beauty, but even without that... spring steel outdrives and seemingly pretty strong suspension, chassis braces etc.. plus that chassis tower or whats its called for upside down landings. You can just tell from the design that it must have ~about the same amount of flex as a brick 😆 only thing i dislike are the dogbones because (im just a noob but) plastic seems to do better for bashers? But for a plastic axle/dogbone design you likely need to offset the shocks on the control arms, which may result in bending shocks as a new hobby? Not sure. Fun thing is; I thought Team Corally was an american brand; turns out they're from Belgium, and i live in Holland. I could probably ride my bike to their HQ on a nice day 😂

Excellent performance. You really put it to the test. Great car. Do you like it as much as your MT-8 ?
@captaincouldverc9 ай бұрын
My mt8 is in trouble for my number 1 favorite. Value wise, after all the stuff needed to make the mt8 durable and reliable, the kagama isn't much more. Unless you got the mt8 on sale, the uk had them on sale for £299 for a few months. The sale is over. That was a value that is unbeatable The kagama is a little bigger, more powerful and has very little faults compared to the mt8. Which adds to its value compared to the mt8. I love my Crash Test Dummy, but the battle for the Captain's throne is officially in dispute and the kagama is the lead challenger to do so. The only modification I plan to make on it the kagama is the kronos HD wheeliebar. It will replace the wing stands and tie the wingmount, the shock tower and to the chassis. Which will give it when more strength. Never thought I'd ever get an rc that I don't want to modify heavily. I think it's near perfect as you can get for box stock-ish rc car. Only thing not stock in mine is the motor servo and radio.
@RCRoads9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the detailed response. It's always a good thing when a car is engineered properly and modifications are not required. The Kagama is a great example of that. I imagine as time goes on there will be some mod that are justified but in stock for it rips. @@captaincouldverc
