Just received my Corbin Gunfighter for my FZ-09 I've put about 200 miles on the seat . I also had read a lot of reviews on the forums with mixed reviews on almost all seats available the worst I had read about the Corbin was some thought it took from the looks of the bike and I couldn't disagree more I think it looks great and feels even better. I watched your video on the seat and it helped me in my decision as I'm also 5'8 and have had no problems reaching the ground with the balls of my feet or almost flat foot on one foot. I did experience a l ittle discomfort the first time out with it but may of been from the stock seat earlier that day lol! It's night and day difference from the stock seat no more sliding back when taking off & no sliding down into the tank when braking . The longest distance Ive rode with it in one shot is 53 miles and I didn't feel as if I needed to stop and stretch my legs lol as I did with the stock seat. So far best improvement for my riding experience .

Just got mine in last week, and all I can say is wow. If anybody is looking for a seat that you can literally just ride on for hours at a time with almost no discomfort, corbin is where it's at. The one downside is that it is a bit taller, I couldnt quite flat foot on the stock seat, and now I'm really on my toes lol (insert Michael Jackson hehe). Not a problem if I just put one foot down though.

Corbin seats are the best! Not only are they more comfortable, but they position you better on the bike. Well worth the money. Have bought them for my Buell Blast and my Suzuki Gladius and will probably get one for my FZ-07.

I know you will like it more as time passes. I had a Corbin set up for my Wife and I on my 1997 Valkyrie. It also had a back rest that would attach to the drivers or passengers seat!! That seat was the BEST!! We could ride all day and night without any saddle sore. I just subbed and gave you a like, let's hear the follow up review soon!! Its really a GOOD looking seat, with the long miles you put on it, I think you made a very wise purchase. At the end of the day its YOUR comfort that counts, and they seem to have met that well. ive had a corbin on my versys for about 2 years now , about 20k mi. after the thing breaks in a little it is an all day seat . heavy it is but it is built to last and only gets better and better .

I’m with you brother the stock seat sucks about 20 minutes I can start to feel my ass start to hurt I’m looking at the Corbin with the lady saddle because my wife likes to ride with me a lot if there is any better seats out there for a passenger if you would let me know I would really appreciate it

The gunfighter w/ lady is the best I've heard for a passenger. Otherwise there's another seat I was torn between, the Saddlemen. But, I don't know how that would be for a passenger...

If I had a scale that could weight something under 50lbs I would! Haha. There's definitely a noticeable difference. When you pick up the stock seat after having the Corbin in your hand, the stock seat feels like nothing.

Great video. I just got a gunfighter for my 2014 Valkyrie. My first impression - fit, finish and craftsmanship is awesome. I was surprised, though, at the minimal amount of padding - I find that I get a bit uncomfortable after about an hour. Do these seats need to be broken in? I have put about 500 km on mine so far. Will the ride get more comfortable the more I use it? OOPS, just heard on your video that it takes about 1000 km to break in, guess that answers that question. (typing as I listen to you). THUMBS UP on this video.

Thanks man. Well, I got about 700ish miles on it so far I think, but yes I can definitely tell its breaking in. It's not 'squishy' by any means, but just more supportive. As an added bonus, it also makes me feel a little more secure doing wheelies and not sliding off the back! lol

+MR SLOWMOTIVES it's still pretty good. It's more supportive that's for sure, but it's not exactly plush either. I can usually go about 100 miles and then take a short breather to stretch out. But definitely a huge improvement over stock, especially when it came to sliding forward on the stock seat.

Check out king of fleece for a waterproof seat cover. Looks good and will protect you seat. I have the Corbin seat for the FJ09. Love it!!

Really looking into getting one of these on my FZ-07. How does it hold up when you're getting your butt off the seat in the twisties; is it easier, harder, or the same? Feel like you lost any maneuverability?

Maybe you already answered this in the comments. How did you configure it? There are so many options to choose from. The stitching and the way it looks is different than how it looks on their site.

I did the whole seat with carbon fiber vinyl. It did look a little different than the builder on Corbin's website but it still turned out nice.

It's a cheap knockoff of the Dimotiv steering damper for the FZ-09; you can find it on eBay. Other than a couple of hardware issues, I like it.

Fantastic question--I had to check and I didn't see any. Although the edge of the seat is in contact w/ the tank, the rivets look to be a fraction of an inch away since they're inward by an inch or so.

it works well for what I need it to, mainly to keep the bike from getting squirrely when the front wheel gets light. I don't have a link, but just eBay "Steering Damper FZ09" and it will be the first few results...around $60-70 total. The spacers that came with were two short and the hardware was stripped, but just picked up some new spacers and new bolts from my local hardware store for a few bucks.

I really like the engine in my FZ-09.....and hate everything else. The seat is number one. The suspension is number two. Like seriously a burnt out old Harley with an inch of travel would ride way better. Number three is the ugly grapefruit signal lights. Number four is the muffler underneath that’s bigger than the fuel tank. Great bikes for the price....but I think I’ll get a cruiser rather than paying $400+ just to fix one of the bike’s many problems

I'm not trying to be a Debbie or be that guy that is negative... But that thing is ugly... It's like a 70's cruiser seat all over again... ( Don't quote me on if that's the right time period) but I just hate the vertical lines... The back half looks cool.. But just the front half shape and the lines (ridges) I just hate lol... And the weight? I don't know about seats but that sounds heavy ( iv heard it is too) lol maybe I'm a little bit picky on my weight and looks lol but if u love it then by all means keep that thing and I hope it lasts for centuries on end lol.. Lefty Cycle I had a corbin on a yamaha warrior a while ago. I think corbin does great designing cruiser seats. I've always thought they give naked bikes a cafe racer kind of look. I wonder what your seat would look like on a xsr 900

It actually might look a little more pleasing to the eye, since I'd imagine it looking close to a cafe racer. But I'd be curious what Corbin has planned for the XSR!
