I live in the southern City of Pérez zeledon I have always wanted to make that hike. I love nature and I love walking, I seriously dont know why I havent go to Corcovado since i have the time. Bunch of friends had showed me amaizing videos of Corcovado I know the relevancy of this place I seriously cant explain why havent go but your videos are the last push I needed, I would visit this place.. My family had quite large área of land some parts at some point were used to farm pineapple around 15 years ago now im reforesting a really vast área dozens of km2 I work every day to make this place magic again and gladly I start seeing more animals.. I dont like money, nature cures me is always been like that, it gives me peace Thanks a lot for your video...

Excellent videos! I visited Corcovado in 1995 and saw much of the same flora and fauna featured here. The facilities at Sirena appear much improved since my trip and possibly expanded since it looked a bit bigger than I remember. Also I dont remember seeing any interpretive signs and I dont think there were seven marked trails, I think some of those must have been created since I was there. Back then I was able to do my own autonomous trip, basically just showing up and winging it.I did an out and back from Carate and fortunately found hiking partners to accompany me both ways. On the way into Sirena we encountered a high tide that made the crossing of the Rio Claro quite the adventure. We arrived at Sirena right at dusk and as soon as we stepped under the corrugated metal roof an intense downpour commenced and the Ranger told us that the hammerhead sharks swim upstream to hunt during high tide. I'm glad I didnt know that when we were crossing the shoulder deep river while we were carrying our packs over our heads. While I was there several students from various countries were doing their Masters thesis' in their respective fields. on my second night at Sirena they had set up several large white canvasses with flood lights shining through and were observing all the different insects that were attracted to them. there were hundreds of bugs of different shapes, colors and sizes all flitting about and landing on the canvasses.
