I never get rid of all of the stems. They contain extra nutrients and provide some crunch.

My Auntie from West Virginia. I cut the stems out the greens and she was mad as hell. Cursed me out and it was Thanksgiving. She say trim the thick part of the stem. But leave that stem on them greens. She old school and does that country cooking

I always leave my stems, my mother said a lot of nutrients value in the stems and she’s a Mississippian and so am I lol
