I lived down the street from her.. its been a long time but I believe this video was in her driveway. I also remember her drive that car. 28 years later I found an article she signed for me. Its the article with Brian Setzer.

@cowboybear40 I'm kicking myself for spending my adolescence in MS just a few miles from Pontotoc, and never knowing she existed until now! Blind Melon I knew for the Butler Boys they were, and my parents used to live across the street from Elvis's birthplace, but this I missed.... I'm going to reassure myself by assuming that she was long gone from Pontotoc by then.

Why is it in every clip I’ve heard her chords are out of tune?
@BryanClark-gk6ieКүн бұрын
Because she's always framing on the strings. That was the biggest part of her gimmick to get attention because she sucked.
@tombstoneharrystudios584Күн бұрын
@ I assumed it was because she used that cheap guitar; it probably hadn’t seen a setup or re-fret in years (maybe she didn’t know about things like that) hence the out of tune sound

It’s a Hagstrom guitar; their quality control was appalling back into the day and that’s probably all she could afford or find in the 50s where she lived
@aaaarrrgggghh7 ай бұрын
hmmm not meaning to rain on her but I could play this very stuff better than this when I was 15 so I am not impressed one bit
@HairMetalSalon5 ай бұрын
But like.. without her you wouldn’t know what this stuff was is the point lol
@tombstoneharrystudios584Күн бұрын
@@HairMetalSalonI think what the OP meant was that they couldn’t understand the fuss being made of her as a rock n roll granny Her technique and songwriting by todays standards is very basic and repetitive at best In the 50s as someone who was self taught, when there was little if any instruction available, she did very well But she isn’t that good as a guitarist
