Cordova woman says trash hasn’t been picked up in weeks

It’s for certain no one likes looking out their front door to the sight of an overflowing trash bin, but a homeowner in one Cordova neighborhood claims that’s been her view after, she says, there’s been no trash pickup for close to a month.

This happened to my neighborhood in 12/2022. For 16 days, we had no trash pickup. I sent a scathing email to the mayors office and received a response the next day. They came to pick up the trash immediately. We pay for the service, do your job.

When I lived in the city of Fort Worth, Texas- the city would have the news stations put out that if your LID WILL NOT CLOSE, they wouldn’t pick up your trash.

This happens all the time in the neighborhoods off Houston levee road. I work at a residential home and we’ve had to get a pickup truck from friends to come take our trash away to nearby garbage dumpsters. This detracts from the neighborhood value, homeowners peace of mind and it have the neighborhood smelling like a dump site grid.

Basically if not a certain space to the road they want pick it up and if it’s to close to the mailbox they want pick it up plus the mail people complain. But I can’t be to far down from the mailbox/ driveway because then it’s not near your home. And when the garbage collector did come they faithfully threw the trash cans back in the drive way so I had to get out in the street move the trash can then get in the car and pull into our yard. However I don’t live in Cordova but still.

People would have more room in their cans if they would break down boxes, smash aluminum cans, and squish the air out of plastic bottles and jugs. That's 6 weeks of trash not collected you "genius". No matter how much breaking down and animals (birds/racoons/oppossums) ripping bags it can't be neat.

While you wait for them to get your trash, you could always take some of your garbage to your nearest dumpster. I know she works from home, but I'm sure she still has to leave the house for food occasionally. When your out running errands, take a little bit with you as you go.
