Actually this plant can tolerate full sun and thrives in full sun if you want to keep the color of yours give it full sun and a warm area, keep to roots moist as well don’t water the leaves as is susceptible to molding, it can also tolerate shade but it will loose it’s color and look a little more leggy.

Right I thought that was bad advice. I live in Florida and it loves the sun. Growing beautifully.

@@Jojojoey330me too and I haven’t had any issues with watering them. I usually only water them with some plant food in the spring when they start growing back (I cut them down in the late fall) until they get a few inches tall and just rely on the rain for the rest😂

Great video, informative, and easy to follow for beginners like me, I just bought one of these today at Aldi’s, it was all by itself lonely and I kind of needed an indoors plant for my house, it looks like you mentioned as if the store people used tap water, the leaves look sad, but I’ll bring it back. Thank you

The variety with all reddish leaves would do best in shade, but really do require no less than 2 hrs of direct sunlight.

I’ve had a few in my front yard for years and I cut them down when it gets cold and their leaves start turning yellow and they come back in the spring better than ever😤

Hey Sharon! You could try just gently wiping them down with a damp cloth. Some people will also apply a thin layer of Leaf Shine on their houseplants to make them shiny and glossy!
