Core 2 Duo E8400 vs Core 2 Duo E6850 - CPU Duel (ep. 2)

Aweome vid! I had an e6300, the slowest C2D really at just 1.86Ghz, after returning to PC gaming from taking a long break. My previous rig was an Athlon 64 3200+ on Skt754, and I was playing Dawn of War and Age of Mytholgy and Dark Messiah Of Might & Magic on that rig. When I built that C2D machine, with the e6300, I couldn't believe how fast it was for the low clockspeed. After a modest overclock to 2.4Ghz, it was truely flying, and I could run huge skirmishes in Age of Myth, Dawn Of War, Warcraft 3 TFT etc with tons of AI opponents, and it performed so much better than my previous A64 with far less slow down. A few years later I'd upgrade to a Wolfdale 8400 and that CPU also proved immortal, lasting a very long time alongside a pair of HD4770s. Core 2 was such a massive leap forward in IPC, especially potent in gaming, and if you bought smart and overclocked it offered great value.

I still have a few Core 2 duos and quads stored away, but I know O/C especially the Q9650 around 4Ghz paired nicely with a GTX 1050ti for some great framerates in BF and COD Games.
