For file searching example you said that we can fire more thread to complete the search faster. that might not be the case every time. underlying processor also comes in to the picture. if you have dual core processor then it will take care of two threads simultaneously. but if you have 100 threads then processor needs to do preemptive scheduling. that might end up taking more time than required. so you need to find out efficient thread to core of the processor ratio. If you are searching a single hard disk drive, multiple threads is liable to slow down the process considerably. One thread has the hard drive seek to a location and read, then the next thread has the hard drive seek to a different location and read, etc. All the seeking is not necessary, and a single-threaded set of calls to one driver can have the seeks and reads optimized to some extent. Just putting things in multiple threads not only doesn't make things faster, sometimes it makes them slower.

While I am not going to say it is a great way to do everything, there definitely is process-based multi-tasking that uses whole separate executables to work on the user's work collaboratively. They each have their own graphical windows, their own database connections, etc. and were common in the days when we were trying to solve the shared mutable state problem by avoiding it in this expensive way. I don't necessarily push it as an architecture, but I wouldn't say it didn't exist, only perhaps that it is becoming less common in modern times. The summation of the first 20 minutes comes across almost as "this such a thing doesn't exist" rather than "We don't do this much anymore."

Same here. Would have definitely joined his classes if I stayed in Hyderabad or Bangalore. I have had very bad experiences with training institutes here in Kolkata. Complete waste of money. The trainers read from tutorialspoint the previous night and deliver lectures with shallow concepts. Ask them a conceptual question and the only answer they give is "I'll tell you tomorrow".
