Combining fish and crops makes the best food so invest in fishing. Especially since fishing doesn't have the repetitive minigame anymore. Also, get the fishing gear early. You get different gear from different areas so it's very worth fishing as you go so you don't have to backtrack

I've learned the Fishing background gives you a major headstart in everything cause you can get copper keys, fiber, seeds, wood, valuables to sell, and some good equipment early. I'm thinking I might've been glitched somehow cause I had a fishing spot that didn't go away for over an hour, so I got to level 35 fishing before it eventually disappeared.

deciding where exactly to put chapters takes a while tbh. I did it for my last video, which is doing well for my channel. but it was kinda annoying to watch my whole video again just to try to pick timestamps for chapters. but still you right, chapters are the right youtube strat especially for a video like this

for the hive mother, if you get to the point of crafting a bucket, you can gather some acid water and fish there. one of the most common fish, when cooked, make you immune to acid damage

I never world l would have realized you can craft from a chest right next to the work bench. That is one of those quality of life elements that absolutely scream "made for gamers by gamers." Im in love with this game. My wife has never understood pixel art games. Assuming the are just old and not like "cool new games." She absolutely does not play games. I equipped the fishing pole, handed her the controller and showed her how to fish. I went to wish l work. She called me an hour later absoltely GIDDY. She fished until she filled her inventory then got killed by a slime that scared the pants off of her lmao it was awesome.

for glurch just make a wooden shield. wait till hes about to land and hold the shield button, you'll parry and take no damage. the boss's attack is very simple so you can kinda infinitely parry and just attack after you parry him. extremely simple and doesnt require you to run about but that's all down to how you wanna play.

I brought 15 traps, and just ran in circles resetting them as he landed on them. Never had to attack 🤣

Bring a hoe to the slime fights and farm all that slime.

I dont know if you mentioned it but there is fish that gives you 100% slime immunity as well one for acid for 10mins makes all 3 of the 1st bosses super easy

as far as pets go (for people who want to min-max) just use anything that can attack except slimes early then wayyy later try to get a bird with like 5 of the same trait, honestly unless you plan to play for a while you don't need to worry about the bird its just 100% grind and 900% rng if you get the trait you want and like 4+ of it.

On my early access play through, I got a bird with I believe 5 crit chance perks as soon as I reached the sea

First play through.. I have a bird with 5x triple damage! That's a 10% chance on hit for triple damage. Way better than crit imo and melts everything

I just checked after watching this and you can't remap controls on console. I don't understand why dev's always do this, why do pc players get to completely customize gamepad controls and console players aren't allowed to. So many games do this it really gets on my nerves

i wish this game didnt have automation the resource gathering for all the setups i wanted to make took literal whole irl days iron and scarlet gathering early is a bitch, then i learned you can just use tin drills and they are only slightly less efficient and you can save on scarlet drills and just make a robot arm or 2.
